service operative for Virgin Media went away and came back to slash it by over half. I have two reactions to that. One is that we were lucky to get our bill cut down so much, and the other is that many honest Telewest customers who hadn't thought to query the high costs they were facing after the takeover may still be paying them. After all, despite the odd very glossy booklet of general information, nobody has ever volunteered information to us on such matters. If I was starting without a provider of these services I might well have chosen not to go with this company. We are set up and running with them now, albeit subject to certain ambiguities as described in this review, and that creates ...

Advantages: Basic sky channels are back!, Some good VOD content, good unlimited internet packages Disadvantages: VOD reliability not 100%, webmail reliability & mailbox size, customer service rather 'hit or miss'
believe wasn't so good and it was one of those pretty pained phone calls my mum could have done without but we got it fixed in the end and other times if you phone, you get someone in the UK and you can get ok responses, its a bit 'hit or miss')

Ok im editing this review as I want to add more about the Virgin webmail/email service, see the 4th bottom paragraph about that for the updated information**
I must say it feels like alot has changed with this cable provider over the last year and its not for the better. I'm not very keen on Virgin Media (which were originally NTL or Telewest depending on where you lived but then they merged into this company and paid to use the Virgin brand name, from what I've read on a digital TV discussion forum), after whats happened I'm left feeling suspicious.

Advantages: TV till you drop and good internet. Disadvantages: Poor customer services, poor prices,
Virgin have gone down in my expectations and i am currently thinking of leaving them.
When i first joined virgin media it was called telewest, i signed up to a large tv package and the internet at a cost of 40 pounds per month.
This worked fine untill virgin media took over, Although they did bring better and more chanels to the table the prices went up and the customer service went down.
When virgin took over they rang me to say i would be better off if i got the whole package which included xl tv, 20gb broadband and a phone line with free weekend calls as it would take my bill down to 35 pound a month, i also pay for disney cinemagic aswell so it would basically be taking 5 pound off my bill which i thought was fair enough.
Since then the bill has went up and up and up!
I still have the same package to which i had 4 years ...
