Toulouse is a beautiful old city in the South of France that is sometimes overlooked by most travellers.
It has beautiful architecture, interesting museums, fantastic restaurants and a lovely large park right in the centre.
The people are friendly and helpful to tourists (in particular when using public transport – all the announcements are in French and my French isn’t that good, it takes me a while to understand it!!). Public transport into and around the city is fairly cheap (depends where you are travelling from), and reliable.
I would say that you could enjoy a city break in Toulouse of a couple of days, particularly in you where then travelling on the Dordogne or the Pyrennes.
