the eiffel tower is the unquestioned sight of paris. there is nothing else like it in the world (aart from the copy of it the french gave to the americans a while back) and it is deservedly he focus of attention in paris. you can go up by foot (to the 2nd level) or by elevator to the top, but in both cases the queues are usually very long and the prices very very very expensive. i prefer to stay on the ground and marvel at the spectacle from different parrts of the town. there are some terrific views of it and it is always a great point of reference. visit it, becaue it has to be visited but do not expect too much for your money and you will be pestered to buy little replicas of it - don't bother.
