This author was recommended to me again by my well read boss. Originally she introduced me to Donna Leon and she said she thought I would like this author too. As he also writes crime fiction with a Detective Aurelio Zen also based in Italy.
About the Author:
Michael Dibdin was born in Wolverhampton in March 1947. He qualified as a teacher in Alberta, before moving to Italy in 1979. This was when his writing career took of. Indeed in 1988 he won the Crime Writers Association Maccallan Gold Award for fiction and was shortlisted again in 1991. He wrote in total 18 highly acclaimed novels before his premature death in March 2007.

In reply to this gentlemans' review of the eMachine eTower, my own first computer was, and still is, an eTower 700, with 700Mhz Celeron, a budget CPU in a budget PC. I paid $600USD plus back in 2000. Came with Windows ME, then the latest OS and pre installed with MS' Works and AOL free trial. I still use AOL to this day but hopped onto Wifi as well.
I noted some things I take issue with all the time, He mistakes Memory in the PC for the HardDrive, and no computer has USB port attached to the harddrive. People blame problematic memory or chipsets, and I hasten to add the largely faulted power supply with emachines directly, they use OEM brands for these.
Because you buy it pre-assembled, you are entitled to refunds and servicing of course. Speed issues result from space within the drive, and memory limit issues. 256MB is good ...
