Advantages: great service, great food, great setting! Disadvantages: not in the Uk :-(
As many of you will now have gathered from my past reviews, I have in fact been to Marrakech this summer. I did love the local cuisine and am always up for trying new foods but it doesn't always agree with me. One night there I just wanted to try a cuisine I was familiar with in a lovely restaurant and so I referred to my top ten guide for the answers. In the new part of the town, outside the city walls is a very modern up to date area where the French seem to have located themselves. It is up and coming with familiar shops and restaurants so this is where I decided to dine. My map in tow, I walked down some quite dimly lit streets looking for Trattoria Di Giancarlo which the book stated was a lovely restaurant but judging on where I ended up it seemed I was heading the wrong way. However, after asking a few locals it appeared this was ...
Advantages: an excellent garden Disadvantages: The furniture of the rooms coul be better, no restaurant
with a lightfull veranda and also a terrace solarium where han sunbaths during the summer, request a room with garden view
you will have a nice view of the Cathedral, and this kind of room is much more quite than the rooms on the street side
The breakfast is very large: fresh fruits of season, yoghurts, ham, cheese, cereals, marmelade and honey, croissants and rolls, fruit juices and all the continental breakfast.
The breakfast is always included in the rates.
A large offer of restaurant can be found nearby the hotel: I suggest "Giardino di Barbano" and " TrattoriaLa Gratella"
GETTING THERE
Whether travelling from north or south by car, we recommend that you take the highway exit on the A1 at "Firenze Nord": follow the signs for the centre and the "viali di circonvallazione" . Continue towards the Fortezza da Basso - Exposition centre ...

Advantages: Great food, reasonable fixed price menu Disadvantages: None
On our recent trip to the Loire Valley Mr Tart and myself arrived in Tours quite late on our first night. We drove down to Tours from Paris. We were going to stop for something to eat on the way but in the end decided to make our way straight to Tours and get settled in the hotel and then find something close by. A couple of minutes from our hotel we came across this place and were really glad that we did.
LOCATION:
La Chope is located at 25 Avenue Grammont. Our hotel was on the same road so we just came across it. It is about a ten minute walk from Tours? old town. The restaurant doesn?t stand out and the sign is not particularly bright so make sure you look out for it.
THE EXPERIENCE:
La Chope (which apparently translates as the tankard) is actually a fish restaurant. I?m not really a fish person (ok, that ...
