This is one place in Newcastle which seems to have been here forever. It's one of those places which will probably always be popu;ar because it's right on the quayside, and serves good hearty food at a reasonable price.
How to get there...
As I said, the restaurant is right in the heart of the quayside, which is now pedestrian only access so the best thing to do is park on dean Street and walk down...no way will you be able to park outside.

Just a couple of steps and then you're in, and it really does have a bit of a cellar feel. The first thing you come to is the small bar area, always bustling, with people sitting on the stools, and standing at the bar chatting.

Set right in the middle of the heaving Quayside nightlife, Uno's is not that noticeable from the outside, just a small doorway into the basement restaurant.
As soon as you walk in the door, you are hit by warmth and the most delicious aromas of traditional Italian cuisine.
It's very cosy inside, if a little packed in, but it has a lovely atmosphere. The waiting staff are all lovely - friendly, young and upbeat. Music plays in the background not ... ...quite chilled out. The menu makes your eyes water, and there's options for vegetarians too.
Let me recommend a starter - the Loaded Skins. I could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they are so yummy in a gorgeously creamy cheese and bacon sauce.
Choose from a wide variety of main courses that you'd expect in an Italian restaurant, my favourites have got to be the Chicken Kiev with rice, or the Carbonara.
