...the long travelling times on Shearings coaches and here is the reason. Shearings Coach Depots (in our case Normanton in Yorkshire) have a closed barrier across the entrance until 4.30 pm and coaches are not allowed in, regardless of how near the holiday destination is, so drivers have to kill time on the motorways. We booked 8 months before and paid extra for a sea view, expecting a really smart room, but instead got a tiny scruffy room on the top floor, with just enough space for a double bed, a bathroom and a tiny wardrobe. Lake Garda with Thomson

Advantages: Fantastic choice of locations
Disadvantages: Repetitive food in hotel

I think that my 2009 Thompson summer holiday to Lake Garda was excellent. Where is my Room? Solved

Advantages: Seems cheaper than other sites
Disadvantages: Stress when it goes wrong

Booked with Alpharooms for a visit to New York, filled in all the forms and paid wiht the credit card - 13 pound surcharge, but what do you expect? Well I paid but then had no confirmation e-mail, no e-mail contact at all except and automated reply when I contacted them, no telephone answers (all our phones are busy, please use this premium line), just automated replies to say that they would reply with or without confirmation within 48 hours. Club 18-30 reps-Never Again

Advantages: Escaping the complex, beaches, cheap food and drink
Disadvantages: Reps, chavs

Booked a holiday to Malia via Thomas Cook/18-30 and the reps were a nightmare. Got to our apartment complex at around 2 in the morning with about 15 other people and they split us into 2 groups to show us to our apartments. My camp america time

Advantages: Work and Travel in the USA!!!
Disadvantages: 2-3 months can be a long time away, you wont have much savings

...I'm helping out on summer camp worldwide at the moment (oh yes i really do like camp that much) I went and worked at a summer camp and it was amazing!!! If anyone is thinking about going applications are open till around May. It beats working in the UK, getting paid to have so much fun is great. Apart from over the summer the money probably works out as nothing but it doesn't really matter. The J1 visa gives you plenty of time to travel after camp ...
