I booked our family holiday with Travelcity Direct to Orlando last year with no problems and I noticed in their brochure for 2006 that we could purchase Disney 14 day Ultimate Tickets for only £8.00 more per person than the 7Day and that we could then exchange these tickets at the Guest Relations Desk at Disney for a fee into Lifetime passes. As we have been to Florida and the attractions many times before, I reckoned that we would only use about 3 days worth of tickets and the rest could be used on future Florida Holidays. Before I purchased the tickets with Travelcity Direct I e-mailed them to make sure I had understood the offer ,as I know that some years previously all Disney tickets were lifetime tickets but that this had stopped. Travelcity Direct e-mailed me back to say that I had understood correctly. These tickets cost £158.00 per person.
On our first visit to Disney on holiday, we duly made enquiries at the Guest Relation Ticket Office about changing the tickets to lifetime passes and were told politely that Disney do not sell 14 day passes, that is the travel agents in the UK that sell them and that Disney cannot change them to Lifetime passes. If we had the 7 day pass they could have done it but definitely not the 14 day.
We went to the Travelcity Direct office in Orlando and explained the situation and the gentleman there phoned Disney and they confirmed what we had been told at the Disney desk. We showed the gentleman the e-mail and he wrote out a holiday report to send to Travecity when we got back.
We picked up the price list for Disney Tickets at Magic Kingdom and for a four day pass including park hopper we would have been about £135.00 per person. If we had bought our tickets at the gates as we usually do we would have saved over a £100.00. A small amount granted but if we had been able to transfer the remaining days to Lifetime passes this would have been a fantastic saving over the years.
We only used 4 days of our disney tickets.
I wrote to customer relation at Travelcity on our return and sent the original e-mails and the holiday report with only an apology and an offer to waive the booking fee on an Orlando holiday this year!
In all we spent £4500.00 and we feel let down by their after sale care.
Be warned that just because you have an e-mail confirming information from them, it doesn't mean that the information is correct.

Interesting review! Last time I was in Florida they were lifetime passes I did not know they had changed but that is worthwhile knowing that you can only get a lifetime pass on a 7day ticket.
