Just received a letter from Travel City Direct saying the 3 flights I booked in February for my family to Florida in seven weeks time are not now available. The company offered me an alternative which meant flying a day earlier. I called them and said that we would accept the change, only to be told that this option was no longer available as the seats had been sold to someone else whilst the letter was in the post. They cannot offer me an alternative to fit in with the school holidays and will therefore refund my money in full. However, before any refund is made, I must send them a cancellation slip by post. I must then wait approximately 7 days for a cheque to be sent to me, which will then take 3 or 4 days to clear through my bank. Consequently, I will not be able to access the £5,442.74 that I have paid them for the holiday for about a fortnight. Absolutely disgusting.
