I had been searching for a new case for a while, and whilst lightweight is important, and bags with wheels, pockets, zips locks, small boys to carry them, are all available on the highstreet in the end I just went for the cheapest.
The bag is great but that isn't the poimnt of this review, it was just meant to grab the attention of any people currently searching for a new suitcase and make them think about what would happen if ,whatever case you had didnt get on the same plane as you!
I never considered losing my case a problem until it happened to me in December last year on a flight from Singapore to Manchester. The flight was good, but my bag decided that it would like a few more days in singapore and didnt get on the right plane.
Apparently 200,000 bags are lost every month by the airlines, so chances are yours could be next!
The good news is that my bag returned swifty from its extended holiday in one piece complete with all my washing which after 2 warm days on the Singapore runway was giving off a weird green haze.
The point of this review is to inform people of a brilliant service offered by WWW.GLOBALBAGTAG.COM At the time of buying my tag it cost just £9.99 which gets you a silver bag tag with your own unique number on it. also embossed into the tag is the website.
The idea is simple:
-Buy the tag-get a unique number -Before your holiday go onto the website and fill in all the details of your trip, including flight numbers and where you will be staying and when you are coming back. -Attach to your bag (it has a wire connector which will not break) -Go on holiday and dont worry about anything. -If your bag goes somewhere else on holiday, simply go onto the website and report it lost. -Wherever your bag has gone, hopefully the airport will have been informed and will also go to the website and using the unique number, globalbagtag will tell them who's it is and where it should be and when. -Get your bag back and enjoy your holiday safe in the knowledge that you now have the 3 packets of Diacalm and the Jumper for the 'Chilly' nights that you packed.
Thats it, simple really, losing suitcases is never going to stop completly but finding them again just got a whole lot easier!
The one downfall of this system is that it requires someone at the airport to see the tag and then go to the website, Luggage reclaims are aware of this product though as I found out to my benefit.
Sorry but I haven't rated as I suspect that this would be considered "off-topic". You may find that other members will rate it as such, but I have a soft spot for men in uniform! You should ask ciao for a category for the web-site then you can write a proper, in-depth review of what sounds like an interesting concept.

Great idea - it would be interesting to know what their success rate of finding luggage is.

An interesting concept. Wonder if it works. Pauline.
