A nice polite customer advisor came on the line, and asked me for my starting point and where I had to travel to. After this, they asked me what time I needed to arrive at my destination. They would then proceed to tell me what number bus to ... ...closest bus stop to my destination, and the times. It is advisable to write these down, as it is easy to forget! However, they are generally fine with you having to repeat back any information to them.

Finding bus timetables and local bus operators a nightmare, I had heard that Traveline were a good company who gave out information on bus times.
Having gotten their number (of 0870 6082608) from my local telephone guide, I gave them a call. A nice polite customer advisor came on the line, and asked me for my starting point and where I had to travel to. After this, they asked me what time I needed to arrive at my destination. They would then proceed to tell me what number bus to catch; the closest bus stop to my starting point; the closest bus stop to my destination, and the times. It is advisable to write these down, as it is easy to forget! However, they are generally fine with you having to repeat back any information to them.
On the whole, I find that this company is pretty good in giving me the information that I need. The only problem that I have is when they have not heard of a place, and it needs tobe spelt out for them. They also need more specific instructions and/ or directions, rather than just being told they need to go from Plymouth to Cardiff in three weeks time as they don't like this. In case you hadn't already realised, they don't know what time you need to be there. Also, different services may only run on certain days which may not be when you need to get there.
Soo give them as much information as you can, and help them to help you. As they are a national company, they should have information on just about every service in the country.

Traveline also give out train and National express information, however I haven't used these services, as I have timetables for the trains and never use National Express.
I have found both good and bad service from Traveline - circular routes in towns really confuse them, and if neither you or they know the town it can be difficult to have any idea of where you're going, it helps if you have the name of where the bus stops (ie: ... ...a town.
When I've phoned through, the staff always answer the phone promptly and are always friendly. However, occasionally, I have got the feeling I am talking to a mate at the end of the phone who is having the same trouble reading the timetable as I would have in an unusual place.

Advantages: Easy Of Use Disadvantages: lack Of Up-To-Date Information
I believe that Traveline have absolutely dispicable service, the lack of up-to-date information is rediculous and the website state and content is un-exceptable. They are simply in the business for the money and have no interest in the publics desires and well being.
Their website is completely empty, has no design structure or easy navigation. The site is too bare and could do with a lot of work.
They don't bus services they advertise all bus ... ...messages within 7 working days, months later after sending mine I am still awaiting a reply!
*added* Traveline are not an operator, surely you know that! Traveline are a national bus & train information line for timetables across the UK! Website at www.traveline-northeast.co.uk (thats there North East site)! ...

Advantages: Price, position, staff Disadvantages: position (if you don't have a car)
the local amenities of a city centre hotel, but it depends what you're looking for. You can travel by bus to the City Centre but this entails a walk to the bus-stop (5-10 mins) and a change of bus about halfway. I'm not sure how frequent the buses are but Traveline (www.traveline.org.uk) should be able to help.
I'm not sure if they've had/still have a problem with car crime in the area, but there are plenty of notices advising not to leave valuables in cars and the car park is covered by CCTV. There are ample parking spaces and we didn't have any problems.
The staff are very friendly and happy to assist whenever they can. I asked for extra coffee and milk for the room and this was immediately forthcoming. HI Express also have various toiletries availabe for free if you forget anything.

My Opinion
Good little airport. Friendly efficient staff (well they were on my visit).
Check-in and security were very quick (alwasy a bonus).
Not overly impressed with the shopping facilities, but then again it is an airport and to be honest you can read a good book until your flight is called.
I would definitely travel from here again if I was given the opportunity.

I went to Alton Towers last year with my partner and a group of friends in July, and had a brilliant day. There were so many rides to choose from, and we bought the queue buster ticket at an additional cost to beat the queues and make the most of the day.
--Accessibility--
We drove to Alton Towers, staying in a hotel roughly 25miles away in Derby. Overall, it was well signposted and easy to get to.
