Advantages A large well run facility. Plenty of choice and space. Beach is beautiful.
Disadvantages Many pools, watch kids carefully. Beach traders can be a nuisance.
My husband and I stayed at Travellers Beach Club many times over the past 10 years. We have found that All Inclusive Facility excellent for both adults and children.
The Hotel boasts many swimming pools at least 4 that I can think of! All pools are kept meticulously clean. The pool for Travellers Club also has a bar that you can sit at in the water and keep cool! The grounds of the hotel stretch over two plots, one is for all inclusive members of Travellers Club, the other side accommodates any other customers. The gardens of the hotel are full of lush vegetation, palm trees, many varieties of other flowering trees, shrubs and plants. The quality of service is excellent throughout the hotel, whether it be the waiter service, or room service. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, most of whom are locals. The wages paid in this industry are poor and therefore the staff are most appreciative of any small tip you may leave in the room or at table. When you leave they also appreciate any books, clothing, shoes or cosmetics that you may wish to leave behind for them. If you choose to leave something as a gift for an individual, please give them a written note, stating what you have given them and sign it. This will allow them to keep whatever you have gifted.
Staff throughout the hotel are naturally friendly and love to talk to you about nearly anything. Most love children and make them very welcome, even to the extent of watching them without being asked to! They will always tell you what your children have been up to if you take your eyes off them for one minute! You can hire a babysitter from the hotel for a few shillings per night..The hotel has an Italian Restaurant, serving pizza and pasta dishes, also an Indian Restaurant. A few door down from Travellers Beach hotel, next door to the sister hotel Bamburi Beach, is a genuine Indian Restaurant which make fabulous indian dishes, if you want a meal out from the hotel in an authentic indian setting.
Padi diving and other watersports (jet skis, canoes, wind surfers) are also available for an extra charge. The hotel grounds extend down to the beach which is a white powdery sand with water as warm as a bath. The beach is also lined with palm trees. The hotel provides security guards at the beach entrance and the main hotel road entrance for guest safety.
Once on the beach, you will be hassled by beach traders who are trying to earn a small living and will sell you anything from pottery, wood carvings to boat trips etc. Most of them are really friendly and can give you some good tips on local trips etc and places to visit or purchase something you are looking for. Many will also want to show you their local village and family.
I thoroughly recommend Travellers Beach Club to anyone wishing to have a truly relaxing holiday and wishes to be spoilt. There is nothing like waiter service under the palm trees while sunbathing!Detailed Rating
