When we were having some work done to our home, we found ourselves in absolute chaos. It was so bad it wasn't even liveable, so we decided to up sticks and pack a couple of bags and escape for a couple of nights. We have a few 'posh' hotels near our home in Worcestershire, all of which were out of our budget so we opted for our local travelodge in Droitwich.

The lodge is situated in quite a quiet part of Worcestershire and although you are near the motorway, you are also far enough away to not hear the traffic noise.
There is plenty of car-parking here and you are right next door to a Little Chef and opposite a pub so plenty of eateries in the local vacinity.
I have heard a few people complain about the service they have received from reception areas in Travelodges, but I have to say my experience was only a positive one. I found the staff here to be completely professional, helpful and pleasant which is always a bonus. They made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to assist us in any way possible.
I was impressed by the price of Travelodges. They are generally used as convenience overnight stops for business users or drivers. You are certainly not walking into a luxury pad, but then thats not why we stopped here. The price for a family room was just £52.00 per night, which we found good value for money. Our price was only this expensive as we were last minute customers. If you book early you can get rooms as cheap as £39.00 per night.
The rooms are quite basic but also very attractive. They can only be described as contemporary and minimalist with bright white walls and royal blue carpets. A family room consists of a double bed and a sofa bed which is suitable for one adult or two children to sleep on. Theres certainly nothing luxurious about the Travelodge, but it does the job its meant to do - and does it well.
Rooms also contain a coffee and tea making equipment as well as sheets, pillows and towels as standard. There is also a small tv in each room, though only basic channels are available. There is a desk and chair there too for those who are using their rooms for business purposes. Items such as hairdryers and ironing boards are available from reception and you can also purchase toiletries such as toothpaste and soap there too. Travelodges don't have any eating areas of their own, though for little snacks we did find a couple of vending machines located on each floor.

A single room contains one single bed and one sofa bed. Each room is spacious and has its own bathroom which contains a white suite consisting of toilet, sink and bath - but no shower. I like the clean lines and bright white walls. It gives the impression of cleanliness and space and this is what the Travelodge has achieved well in my opinion. I have never had a problem with the cleanliness of the rooms and the provided linen has always been new and crisp, just as it should be.
The design and decor of the rooms will appeal to people of all ages. Simple, clean and contemporary.

Overall I couldn't fault anything about this Travelodge. Prices do differ from lodge to lodge so its worth checking costs before you book. However the Droitwich Travelodge is good value for money in my opinion. It is conveniently located near the motorway, train station and town centre with plenty of places to eat nearby. Parking is simple and the staff were friendly and warming. The rooms were just what we wanted - spacious and clean. Check-out is generally by 10:00am the morning of your departure which is plenty of time in my opinion.
If you are ever in the area and need a place to stay then this is a real winner for me. I have heard some horror stories of other Travelodges up and down the country and with so many of them about you are bound to be a bit 'hit and miss' with some of them. This one is a real gem though and thoroughly recommended by me!
