Advantages: Great location Disadvantages: Shabby, smelly, tired
I have to whole heartly agree with the previous reviewer, this place was awful. I'm usually a fan of travelodge given their cheap rooms and (usually) across the board standard rooms, however this place was pretty terrible. This has to be top of thier list for renovation.
An ugly high rise building that doesn't get better on the inside! DO not pay full price for rooms in this travelodge. Luckily we paid only £10, due to reserving in advance - therefore I wasn't too livid, although disappointed at the standard. As it was we were only using it as a crash pad after going to a gig.
The overall appearance of the place was shabby (except for the reception) and there was a damp musty smell throughout. The bathroom was ok but the room layout was awful - there was a huge pillar in the middle of the room!
I wouldn't recommend this at all ...
Advantages: Convienient Disadvantages: Few staff available
This Travelodge is on the A38 near Burton, between Derby and Birmingham. It is probably closer to Swadlincote than to Burton-on-Trent. We booked online several months in advance and paid only £29 for a double room. We did not check-in until almost midnight as this was a one night stop to avoid a long drive home after a party. She did not remove her earphones to serve us, but did quickly find our reservation and ask if there was anything else we needed. There was a vending machine with crisps, chocolate, toothpaste, and canned drinks in the lobby.
The room had the usual shower over a bath. There were towels provided as well as a small bar of soap, and plastic "glasses". We had a double room, which has one double bed, and a sofa bed. There was ...
Advantages: Cheap, does the job Disadvantages: Thin walls, hairs in bath, no buses
I was recently in Winchester for my cousins wedding.
My mum had booked three separate rooms at the SouthboundTravelodge on the A34 in Winchester. We had originally booked the rooms for two nights but when me and my boyfriend got into London a night earlier, Mum made another separate booking for an extra night for us. When we got to the hotel, we explained that we were also booked in for another two nights after the initial night we were staying, and the lady said there was no problem to keep the same room for all three nights, which was great meaning that we wouldn't have to check out and check in again in the morning to go to a different room.
Since the room was already paid for, checking in was really easy, all we had to do was give our name and then we got the key to our room. The check in desk is straight in front of you as soon ...
