Luggage didn't hold up during travel
Review of Travelpro WalkAbout Lite 26 Expandable Rollaboard Suiter by
catalinatahoe
Advantages: Lightweight and nice color
Disadvantages: Frame bends too easy during travel making it impossible to pull out the handle to use to pull it.
...I have gone on trips for many years. I bought a suitcase in 1996 that lasted me for 10 years. This year, in June, I purchased a pretty turqoise colored Travelpro WalkAbout Lite 26" Expandable RollaBoard Suiter. I have taken it on a few vacations so far. Unfortunately, yesterday on my trip back from Phoenix to Sacramento, my baggage was damaged. First off, I couldn't pull the handle out to pull it. I thought possibly something was wedged and waited until I got home to check out the problem. It was after I removed everything out of the suitcase that I noticed the frame was bent. The handle cannot be pulled out. I also noticed a zipper pull was missing. I am very dissatisfied that this luggage didn't hold up during normal travel. It was in good shape when I gave it to baggage claim. I now have to go purchase another suitcase...

Pack-it Up and Start Again
Review of Eagle Creek Pack-It Cubes by
koshkha
Advantages: Tidy way to pack
Disadvantages: none that I know of
...brought up on metric. I took these off the Eagle Creek website.
Cube - 14 x 10 x 3 inches. Total volume 650 cubic inches or 10.5 litres
Half Cube - 10 x 7 x 3 inches. Total volume 300 cubic inches or 5 litres
Quarter Cube - 7.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 . Total volume 75 cubic inches or 1.2 litres
Now I don't know about you but those figures don't look right to me. My maths is pretty good and the numbers don't add up - the large one ought to come out at 420 cubic inches but maybe the 'old money' numbers work differently (all those rods, perches and fathoms) or more likely they are allowing for the compression factor that can be achieved. Just as when you zip up a suitcase you can always squeeze in more than the apparent volume maybe it's the same with a cube.
How would I use them?

My recommendation is to buy a selection. If you...

Scheduled services at Charter Prices
Review of GB Airways by

Advantages: On-line check in for some airports, good prices if you are flexible on travel times, comfortable planes, free food and drinks
Disadvantages: Flexible check-in means greater chance of mislaying luggage, inflexible in respect of changes, food a little iffy
...of Champagne at £4 a bottle. Drinks were served with complementary pretzels and the gin was flowing outbound, and the orange juice on the way home.
The meal on the outbound journey was Lamb Moussaka and mash potato, with bread roll, spring water, cheese and crackers, profiteroles and chocolate sauce. Despite initial impressions and the fact that I rarely, if ever, eat lamb, it was very tasty.
Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the return meal, which was some form of Thai Chicken with noodles, the customary bread roll, cheese and crackers, spring water, and a chocolate mousse. We did have a little play with it, but in all honesty, it was awful, and had I have been paying for it, I would not have been a happy bunny.
I must confess I wasn’t expecting entertainment on the flight. However, Club Class get a whole range of Sky Digital...
