It doesn't have indicator lights showing when the hard drive is working or when wifi is connected or when it's running on battery power (like my old Dell Inspiron does). Some people hate that. I'm not too bothered as I rarely paid attention to those lights, anyway. It also has buttons on the keypad to let you mute or change volume, which is very nice as my husband's last laptop didn't have that and it seemed to take forever for him to get the volume down if an ad popped up or a page had music! The Dell Inspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell (which takes several weeks).
Because Dell are so good at allowing customisation, you need to be very careful when you buy that you actually get the one you need - they are not all the same, so you can't just go into a shop and say "Give me your Inspiron 1545" - you need to be sure that it e.g. has a suitable processor, enough memory and a big enough hard drive for your needs. This is an excellent drama directed by Oliver Stone recurring around the New York Stock Exchange during the 80's and how stock brokers were able to achieve huge wealth through the buying and selling of options and shares. It follows Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen), a young and ambitious broker who has his eye on working for WallStreet giant, Gorden Gecko (Oscar Winning Michael Douglas) but must first prove himself worthy in this cut throat business. In order to gain Gecko's interest and his foot in the door, Fox uses information he has on his own father's (Martin Sheen) airline to gain Geckos interest regarding a takeover. It follows Fox's rise and subsequent manipulation and corruption by Gecko. Fox struggles to live with himself, as he realises his wealth is at the expense of other peoples jobs and lives.
