There are several travel companies, with similar sounding names, who advertise in the popular press but the one that I would recommend for World wide escorted travel is a company called TRAVELSPHERE.
If you are thinking of far away places it could be worth your while to telephone for one of their brochures. The tours they organise are most comprehensive and the guides are well informed and would appear to have much useful local knowledge. Some countries insist on their own guides escorting and they inter react very well them.
The forms of transport provided are comfortable and any excursions well organised. The hotels provided are first class.
We have travelled to Hong KongSingapore and Thailand with Travelsphere. While we were in Thailand besides organising a first class hotel right in the centre of Bangkok the hotel booked in Pattaya beach was right on the beach, actually and only a short “toot,toot, (local taxi), ride away from the lively centre.
The prices and quality they deliver are hard to beat. Excellent value for money.
Three years ago we were planning a visit to Canada and decided to wait for the Travelsphere brochure before making any final decision. Their catalogue was so inviting that we did not get as far as Canada! We ended up doing a tour of the Southern States of America
We flew to Atlanta and then coached to New Orleans staying a few nights en route at hotels in Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga and Vicksburg. Of course we took excursions to all the places you would expect, when in the home of Rock’n’Roll, Country music and Jazz. (The street jazz in New Orleans is amazing and, to completely change the subject, I’ve held a baby alligator in my hands from the swamps of that area.)
We had the same coach, driver and guide throughout. For quite a stretch we had an American guide, also, who was very funny and made some of the longer stretches pass by very quickly. I am not a good coach traveller and was rather apprehensive of this holiday but I had no need to worry the coach was very comfortable and we had many stops.
Travelsphere really do seem to care about the well being of their clients. They are, also, willing to customise holidays for you but I do not know the cost of these. The brochure holidays are fairly priced and value for money. Booking by telephone is easy and the staff are very helpful.
NEXT YEAR, PERHAPS, WE WILL GO TO CANADA AND CRUISE UP THE ALASKAN COAST.
