Fihalhohi Island Resort

Advantages: Peace and quiet, relaxing paradise
Disadvantages: None at all

What a Fantastic little Island, Fihalhohi Island Resort is in the South Male Atoll in the Maldives. After a 10 and a half hour flight from Gatwick we landed at Male International Airport, we were escorted to the Speed boat. The transfer was only 40 minutes with views of other islands on the way. As we approached the island we knew this was the Paradise we expected. Tall palm trees, white sand beaches, bright blue skies and turquoise sea. We walked down the small wooden jetty to the reception while the boat crew carried our cases. We were given a refreshing fruit drink with cool towels then filled in our registration cards. We were taken to our room by the staff who very kindly carried our heavy cases, we tipped them a few dollars for this. Our single storey beach bungalow was very nice, with a very large double bed, dressing table ...

Wii Resort For Island Sports

Advantages: Some great mini-games that really show off the MotionPlus accessory
Disadvantages: Expensive to fully kit out two remotes. One or two less compelling mini-games

shown a short cinema sequence during which your character will skydive down to a tropical island resort called Wuhu Island, which is the setting and backdrop for WSR. You are then presented with the main menu screen. WSR consists of twelve sports, ten of which are entirely new. Bowling and Golf make a return appearance from Wii Sports, and are joined by Swordplay, Wakeboarding (water skiing on a surfboard), Frisbee, Archery, Basketball, Table Tennis, Power Cruising (on jet ski), Canoeing, Cycling and Air Sports. Nunchuks are required for Archery, Power Cruising and Cycling. You choose the sport you want from the main menu and then the mode of play (some sports offer more than one mode - more on this later), the number of players, difficulty level and various other options, some of which are only unlocked when you make the relevant progress ...

Bill Wyman's Treasure Islands

Advantages: Very easy to use
Disadvantages: None

Bill Wyman's Treasure Islands, Britain's History Uncovered (co-written by Bill Wyman and Richard Havers) is a most excellent book. Bill Wyman, rock musician, somewhat controversial man-about-town and history buff? Everyone has a dark secret in their lives. And Bill Wyman's is that he is a closet metal detectorist. Well, not so much closet, now he has written this book! Wyman relates how he bough his first metal detector in 1991, after a trying period in his life, and then spent many happy hours and days tramping round the fields surrounding his home in rural Suffolk. Always with the permission of the farmer, of course. Why did he take up this hobby? He relates that some men were working in the garden of his house found a 16th century water jug as they were digging. Wyman himself found a small pewter bowl in his rose garden ...
