The pavement of old Arbat, its decorative lampposts, gypsies passing on horseback, people selling dolls and shawls and T-shirts in the street, thieves and drunks and students, the unbelievable beauty of it all and harmony in the seeming chaos...
Come on, of course you can get robbed. I didn't though, but I did in Paris and in Barcelona, twice. Every big city is a peril in itself. But Moscow is worth visiting, not necessarily if you want to judge it, but ever so if you want to see it, love it and never forget it.
Cultural treasures are certainly the most essncial. The Pushkin museum, the TretyakovGallery, everything in Kremlin, Red Square and Saint Basil... Then there are interesting tours to the monasteries and palaces inside and outside the city. For the Kremlin, take a guide out of those who offer ...
