A hotel in the heart of New York City

Advantages: Great Location, Clean and Friendly Staff
Disadvantages: Views from hotel itself not great, no free wi fi

My boyfriend turned 30 a few weeks ago and for his present I booked us a trip to New York and the Wellington Hotel is where I picked for us to stay due to its central location in Manhattan. Last Wednesday we flew out to NYC and checked into the Wellington. If you didn't know already this is where part of the Borat film was made, the main scene being where he tries to unpack his things in the lift thinking its his room and so many Borat jokes ensued in the elevators during our stay. The location of the hotel is amazing, its a 1 minute walk from Carnegie Hall, 2 minutes from Central Park and 5 minutes from Times Square and is located on the corner of 55th Street and 7th Avenue. The placement of the hotel was my favourite thing about it as it was just so easy to walk to some of the city's best attractions from here. When we checked in ...

Fab priced hotel in the thick of New York City!

Advantages: Cheap, right by Times Square, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Rooms may be too small for some fussy travellers!

When I was booking a holiday for my partner and I to go to New York, I did a lot of research about hotels, locations, sight-seeing spots etc and then tried to find the best one out of a huge list I made. I didn't want to pay a lot for the hotel because I knew we wouldn't be in it much, and when I saw the Best Western name, I thought it would be a good idea to stick with what I know! So I booked 4 nights in this hotel in December 2005, my second trip to the fantastic NYC. We easily got a transfer from the airport, and gave the driver the address which I had printed out before we left the UK. We speedily set off into the manic NYC traffic in our little yellow cab, and were there within about 1 hour, not bad considering the traffic! The hotel had a nice frontage, it was all gold, had loads of Christmas lights and little Christmas trees ...

Review of Best Western President Hotel, New York City

Bentley Hotel - New York New York!!!!

Advantages: Clean, nice rooms - amazing views from roof top balcony
Disadvantages: 24 Hour coffee bar was actually a vending machine!!

Park, where you can almost imagine you are no longer in a built up metropolitan city. We took a helicopter ride around the city while there and Central Park looks very very strange from the air. Like a large slab of green in the middle of a grey island full of buildings. Amazing. From our room we had a view of The Queensboro Bridge. It is quite amazing at night when all the lights are on. Incidentally this is the bridge they used in Spiderman, where he saves the people in the cable car. We watched Spiderman after we?d been to New York and it was instantly recognisable. There is a large area at the front of the hotel where your cab can pull up out of the way of the main traffic. This where we arrived and then the luggage was carried in for us. **OVERALL OPINION** Overall we would recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to New ...
