Advantages: Luxury facilities in comparative price Disadvantages: booking is most of the time hardly available

Advantages: Great staff, great food, great room Disadvantages: None!
...I stayed here for 3 days in August 2006. We got a good deal on prices as it was the monsoon, though from the weather you couldn't tell. It is definitely worth considering coming in the low season.
The hotel is reasonably modern and very clean. The rooms are what you expect from a Hilton, with lots of little nice touches - free 2l bottle of water each day - great for sightseeing! There is also some lovely toiletries and slippers provided. About half of the rooms look out over the central garden which contains the very nice swimming pool.
The food is lovely. The breakfast is done buffet style but there is so much choice and is constantly being replenished so things are always hot. There is both Indian breakfasts as well as more Western alternatives available. An evening meal wasn't included in our price, so you can either eat out or stay...

Advantages: Impressive architecture Disadvantages: Too much hassle to stand and admire it

Having imagined it standing in isolation in beautiful palace grounds it is somewhat disappointing to find that it is situated directly on the main road running through Jaipur. Our coach stopped on the same side of the road as the palace which meant that for a reasonable photo you had to cross the road. This is no easy feat in Jaipur. Traffic hurtles towards you, yet we were warned that rushing across the road is more likely to unnerve drivers and cause an accident than an unconcerned amble. Another hazard in attempting to cross the road is the danger of tripping over men women and children trying to sell you all manner of items. In all, it was a rushed and hassle filled moment. There is absolutely no chance of just standing, staring and considering...

A lot can happen in a space of a few years but never more so than in Dubai; it's currently a massive construction site but in the nicest sort of way! The last time I visited Dubai in 2002, I stayed at Oasis Beach Hotel in Jumeirah. At that time the... more
