Hi! I'm Jane, 33 year old biologist. I like to relax by listening to music, doing yoga or painting. I discovered Ciao in March 2001 and think it's great. It's the first place I turn for an opinion before deciding whether to buy.

The Trocadero is a multi-story shopping, entertainment and fast-food complex, well positioned just off Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. Entrances are located on street level, next to Planet Hollywood. Alternatively, avoid the crowds and take the entrance to the complex leads directly from Picadilly underground station.
The tourist-orientated gift shops tend to be situated on the ground level and offer the usual range of tat and souvenirs that can be found everywhere in the capital. This part of the complex is also home to the Elvisly Yours shop which, surprisingly enough, sells nothing but Elvis memorabilia for extortionate prices. I've not eaten in the centre before, probably because the range of eating places didn't seem overly inspiring.
Levels above the shops house an 8 screen cinema and the massive "Sega World" which is spread over several levels. Sega World must be one of the biggest amusement arcades in the country and is mainly the haunt of school-age teenagers but is an interesting place for anyone to wander if you want to see the latest in video-game and simulator technology for yourself. If you actually want to try your hand at any of the games on offer, be prepared to spend a small fortune. Admission to the centre is free but if you are playing any of the games any change in your pocket it will start to burn a hole in it very rapidly.
Although the place is fairly busy and there is a constant stream of people passing through, it is so big that it is never actually crowded. That can be quite a relief in Central London.

good op. have you ever been on that ride that goes right up to the roof and then drops down again? I never have, my little sis did though, and looked terrified! Claire

I went here not too long ago, and found it different to my usual surroundings, and was great fun for someone like me. However, one downpoint was we just kept on goin up and up, and didn't know the way out. LOL. Great op :)

Ooh! I must be living on Mars or something, I can't believe I've never heard of this place! Thanks for the read, I'll look out for it next time I'm in London. Cheers, Jenny :)
