Advantages When they get the food right, it's decent quality
Disadvantages Where do I start? Price, quality, staff attitudes...
If you ever have the pleasure of being in Ipswich for an evening's meal, avoid Trongs chinese restaurant in St Nicholas Street. Over-hyped place full of easily misled people fawning over the Emperor's new clothes of cheap quality food* at expensive prices, shockingly rude service and a manager who blames us for him getting the order wrong "well, that's how we serve it here".
When we then tried to complain to the manager, he refused to come to our table as we'd "insulted the chef" by refusing the food. Then he had the cheek to demand payment for food we rejected due to it being wrong because we "wasted good food"! He only took it off the bill after 10 mins of arguing when we started getting loud and telling him that he either cut it off the bill or he should call the police to make us pay. The whole night was made with him saying on the way out "That's piss money to me anyway, I make enough from a restaurant full of happy people every night. I knew you'd be trouble as soon as you started asking questions about the food's ingredients.'
All it would have taken was him to apologise for getting our order wrong, either replacing it or cutting it from the bill and we'd have left it at that and forgotten it, it's not as if we wanted something for nothing, just food to match what we ordered.Avoid this place like the plague unless you're one of those people who like hype over substance.
* for example, premium quality price crabmeat soup should have real crabmeat, not crab sticks...P.S. if you are in Ipswich and want a good restaurant, I can strongly recommend these four:
