Tulip Inn Amsterdam West - Cheep & Cheerful

Advantages: Cheap, Cheerful and Clean
Disadvantages: Bit far out from centre and good 15 mins walk to tram stop down dark canal path

If you want a cheep but cheerful hotel for a great weekend in a fabulous place then Tulip Inn Amsterdam West is for you. The Tulip Inn Amsterdam West is a 3 star hotel situated in the western area of Amsterdam (3 stars indicates that the hotel has a quality rating). There are 162 rooms, which are reasonably priced and during my stay there, the room was clean and had maid service every day. I stayed at the Tulip Inn Amsterdam West in December 2005 with 3 friends and we booked 2 twin rooms. The trip was extremely good value and was booked through Expedia at a price of £116 each including flights and 2 nights (3 days) stay at the hotel. The hotel states that it's facilities include; airport transportation (at extra cost), breakfast room (at extra cost), Wireless Internet access, Free Parking, Conference Rooms, a Restaurant ...

Tulips from Amsterdam

Advantages: A beautiful Spring bloom
Disadvantages: None

Last year I planted some dwarf tulips in pots and although I had a good colourful show I have chosen to revert back to filling my tubs with the normal bulbs which provide stems at around 15 inches high. A few days ago I was walking around Lidl`s discount store and came across large bunches of healthy looking single tulips which were marked at £2.92 a bunch, considering these had been grown abroad and had been picked bunched and wrapped before importing they were such a bargain. Tulips ...

Tulips From Amsterdam

Advantages: Satisfaction and Colour
Disadvantages: Not To Everyone's Liking

century they were brought from Turkey to Holland. They became more popular in the 17th century for the use as a decorative plant and for medicinal purposes. As everyone is aware Holland is well known for its vast array of Tulips, with hundreds flocking there in the spring months, this I would love to see and visit. Amsterdam is the home of the worlds' biggest flower auction, but apparently more and more are know grown in the U.K So, for the planting The bulb will thrive in almost any type of soil but obviously where there is some drainage and with some light and water the soil after you have planted them. When purchasing the bulbs if they do not look too great then don't buy them, a good looking bulb means it look great when in flower. Planting times are October until the end of November ideally, before the hard frosts set in. I ...
