Sun is shining in Hammamet
Advantages: Location, facilities, size of rooms and the staff Disadvantages: None really
On my recent trip to Tunisia we stayed at two different hotels - one of them was this one, the El Mouradi Hammamet. The hotel is actually located in Yasmine Hammamet and is located just across the road from the beach and is only around the corner from the local amusement park, Carthage Land. The hotel is a 5 star hotel and is sold on a either a bed and breakfast, half board or full board basis.
When we arrived at the hotel it was already dark as ... ...it was going on for about 11pm when we actually got to the hotel. The front entrance is all marble and quite wide - it was lit up with a lower light than normal and this gave the hotel a very nice look to it as it wasn't too bright!
Reception:
The reception area is quite large with the check in desk to the right hand side as you enter and a selection of seating areas spread out around the lobby. Just around from reception is the currency exchange ...

unfriendly, low standards in this hotel
Advantages: pool an beach location Disadvantages: rude staff
we arrived at the hotel at the hotel mediteranne at 9am after traveling all night so wanted to go to sleep but we couldnt because we arrived to a dirty room with no view! when we complained we were told it was out fault because we were early when we were on time. The hotel pool and beach are nice, the pool staff are great as they got us doing water aerobics and water polo. There were very few english and the food and entertainment wasn't catered ... ...brocolli. Overall i found the hotel reception staff rude, it took a long time to get there attention and they often looked at us like we were stupid if we asked them for help. We were told to 'shoo' and go and find the maid wen we accidently locked ourselfs out of out room. The waiters in the restaurant were also rude and took the mikey out of my accent when i ordered a drink. There is no nightlife near by. i wouldn't go back to this hotel. ...

Try It Now After The Total Refit !!!!!!
Advantages: Everything Disadvantages: Not One
...a month at least. The whole hotel has just been re-opened on 1st. April 2009, after a total refit.
I could not fault anything. Everything was perfect. The service was second to none.
The staff could not do enough to try and help you, no matter what it was. Their laundry service was excellent and only cost £1. The food was absolutely fabulous, with a wide variety to suit everyone, unless you are very fussy. The rooms were excellent, including hair ... ...there was no tea or kettle provided, but it did not matter. We had a great view from room 343. The pools were wonderfull ,but the outside one was a little chilly.
All said it was a wonderfull week in a lovely place, and cannot wait to return there soon. Ask to see the travel agents gazzettere?(spelling not correct), to see the real reports, like this one.Five stars all round.
Thankyou Elaine Atkinson. ...

Barcelo where I rested my foot in Tunisia .
Advantages: Good hotel Disadvantages: food a bit repetative
...pleasant... The hotel Barceló is not one huge hotel it is made of several buildings. To get to the main restaurant where we ate our evening meal we went outside past the swimming pool down some steps there was awning over most of the path so i9f it rained we would not get wet... The restaurant quite a big building was self service. Wine was served at the table by waiters. We found the staff very helpful and pleasant...
There was entertainment in ... ...The meals were good. The Barceló proudly states it serves its gourmet food. Not sure about gourmet but I enjoyed mine.
After 10 days though we were beginning to get served the same menus again and we thought maybe not enough variety in tastes. That might have been because we were early season and the hotel not full booked. The dining room was certainly no where near full

Christmas Break
Advantages: Weather compared to here! Disadvantages: Can't really say
We went to this hotel from the 21 December until the 28 December. We fancied a change at Christmas and wanted to get away from the awful weather here. We have been to Tunisia before but in May so really didnt know what to expect over Christmas, not only with the weather but of the whole experience. After a short 3 hour flight from Newcastle we arrived at Monastir airport, very quick through customs and out transfer was waiting outside. It took about ... ...the hotel which looked lovely from the outside and the reception area was very pretty to with huge chandeliers and comfy looking seats. We arrived at around 12.30 and had to fill out a card including our passport numbers, names and addresses before we could check into our room. One of the guys from reception took our cases and headed up, we did tip him for doing this. The room was fine although there were no clean towels and the toilet wouldnt flush ...
