I went to Torino last year and was disappointed. It has deteriorated, in my opinion. There were quite a lot people from North Africa around, and most of them looked quite dodgy. The town is still a rich town, mainly thanks to the industry of cars. I like very much the mountains around Torino, which are never too far away. I can give you a couple of good addresses to eat, if you happen to be there. you can try the self-service restaurant "La Grangia" in Via Garibaldi 21. This is a very popular place, especially at lunch, but the queue is never too long and the food is very good, and the choice wide. A 3 course meal will cost you £5 including a small bottle of wine!. otherwise try "Ristorante Peppino" in Via Mercanti 7. A full dinner will not cost you more than £10
