I love writing so much, and my favourite film is The Secretary. I love the Harry Potter books too.

I recently went to Alton Towers for the third time. It was a rainy day and we got hailed on too but we still managed to have a great time, despite the weather.
Oblivion - Now it took a lot of persuading to get me on this one, and boy was I terrified. I wanted to get off but it was too late. It went up, up, up and my heart was pounding. The tension was incredible as it held us over the edge, and an almighty scream from somewhere deep inside me came out and didnt stop till the drop was over. I was shaking and almost in tears, my stomach felt funny - it was great! I can't wait to go on it again!!
Nemesis - this looks a lot worse than it is, you dont really even feel yourself going upsidedown. I would definatly reccomend this ride, it's fantastic, you get such a rush, but as ever, it's over much too soon.
Air - Now this ride looked like a scorcher, it's a shame I didnt get to try it out. Luckily it has one of those virtual queues, so queing isn't a problem. When i was there it was closed due to technical faults, but it's one I definatly want to try as soon as I get the chance.
Black Hole - This ride caught my attention, because you can't see it. If you've never been on it before, you don't know what happens, so it can make you a little nervous, but that makes it more fun!! You go up and up in a spiral movement, and when you get to the top, it goes back down in the same movement but quite fast, and what makes it better is that you can't see because it's almost pitch black. Unfortunatly I lost my hat on this one, but I was stupid to wear it in the fisrt place!
The Ripsaw - Pretty much the same as Ramesis Revenge in Chessington. They starp you in very tightly in this ride. I have been on it numerous times but I am still scared each time! It goes very high off the ground, and holds you facing the floor (which is pretty scary in itself) and they squirt water up in your face. Depending on where you sit, you can get very wet!
You will notice how I have only described the scarier rides, as I am a thrill-seeker and dont tend to go on the tame rides, so it would be unfair for me to give my opinion on those.
The park is very very big with lots to choose from, ranging from a nice slow ride on the teacups to the terrifying white knuckle rides. It's a great day for all the family, as there's planty for children, and a few things that grandma would enjoy too, such as the skyride. There is plenty of choice when it comes to food, with MdDonalds, Pizza Hut, KFC and other stalls etc.
There are lots of gift shops where you can purchase momentos from the rides, but these tend to be very expensive.
The are some lovely grounds as well, very pretty and well kept.
Then of course there is the hotel, which offers themed nights. Also there are advantages of staying at the hotel, like being able to enter the park earlier than the people who aren't staying there, and go on rides with practically no queues, until the park opens to the public. Also the tickets for the park are cheaper if you stay at the hotel, although the hotel costs are rather high, but it's probably worth the money. I've never stayed there but I certainly intend to.
The only thing that made the day less enjoyable was all the walking around you have to do, since the park is so vast, but there are the skyrides to combat this to a certain extent, which take you to various points in the park, and also give you a great view.
I've really enjoyed Alton Towers every time I have been, it's just a fantastic day out.

Advantages: Lots to do, rides seldom break down, something for everyone. Disadvantages: Big queues for some rides, tickets rather pricey, especially for kids
