THE MEAL Upon entering the already busy restaurant at 7.30 we were pleasantly greeted by a member of staff and offered either a seat in the lounge or to go straight to our table. Looking around the restaurant I commented how close the tables were to each other. Personally this didn't bother me and it didn't seem to bother the other diners.
You can choose from the main menu which changes every so often or the chalkboard 'special' menu on the wall, which the waiter drew our attention to. The menu had a nice variety and had an uncomplicated layout. My partner chose the Atlantic prawn salad and I the mushroom fritters with rocket salad... main courses, well we both had the veal, which was cooked to perfection. And finally desserts...rhubarb crumble and chocolate torte... The whole feel and taste of the meal was simple dishes cooked really well using quality ingredients.
THE AMBIENCE Relaxed, friendly and up-to-date. The staff were polite and professional. We left with the opinion of a social, modern restaurant/bistro where all the usual candlelight and mood music is thrown out the window kind of place.
THE PRICE Was as expected, around £60 with one bottle of wine and a soft drinks for the driver. Bear in mind the specials tend not to be any cheaper than the main menu, they only change on a more regular basis.
FINALLY A lovely night out. A busy restaurant with lots of life in a great location to enjoy the best of what the Quayside has to offer. And remember to pre book (it gets busy)
Advantages: Central to Quayside Disadvantages: Manifold - read review

This had the disadvantage of having people push through all the time and having all the parties that arrive all milling around our table greeting each other and so on. This spoils a meal if anything does! You certainly cannot relax.
Anyway to the meal.
We had to wait to order. One of the ...
