Advantages: None Disadvantages: Service, attention to detail, attitude of staff
I have never in my life before got up and walked out of a restaurant but our recent experiences at the TwoBrewers in Chipperfield changed all of that. I booked a table to celebrate my OHs birthday on a Saturday evening. What followed was a catalogue of the most appalling service I ever experienced. We never got to try the food so I cant comment on that aspect.
1. On arrival, our table was pointed out to us in the distance, rather than our being shown to it
2. The waitress came to take our order straight away before we'd even had a chance to pick up the menu, so we ordered a bottle of wine while we perused
3. A different waiter brought our wine. It was the wrong one (a more expensive one) so we asked for it to be changed
4. The original waitress came back to take our order. It was then she told us that there was no steak. Not one ...
Advantages: Staff nice, breakfeast good Disadvantages: Mantiance
The Langley, is ideally situated in the heart of Kent, just on the edge of the market town of Tonbridge.
I'd give this hotel a 5/ 10 I've being in a lot worse trust me, but it defaintly by no means was the best.
The main disadvantage of this hotel was the mantiance of the hotel it was very poor there was leaks from the roof above our bed with water staining and dripping on the ceiling and walls.
Also the carpet needed replacing as it had lots of stains and looked like it had'nt being hoovered what so ever.
It was so warm in the hotel, I dont know why this was maybe to combat the dampness -this resulted in extreme condensation on the windows. We had to ask for towels as only one set was provided in a double room!
The location sounded quite near to tonbridge but in fact is a bit out, this could cause problems for people who ...
Advantages: Superb location, cosy atmosphere, only 20 rooms, Bar you wont want to leave Disadvantages: Not exactly cheap and no breakfast.
The twobrewers hotel is a small but charming hotel in the picturesque and very English village of Chipperfield. in Hertfordshire. Chipperfield is about 2 miles from KingsLangley which in turn is out about 2 miles north of Watford... but don't hold that against The TwoBrewers!.
Living near Chipperfield I have long been a frequent visitor to the village. It has the compulsary village green onto which the TwoBrewers overlooks, where cricket is played and families picnic on the well kept lawn complete with red phonebox and ancient oak. I was lucky unlucky enough to have to vacate my property due to essential works but lucky enough to spend two nights at The TwoBrewers hotel.
History
Founded as an alehouse in 1799 by Robert Waller At one time it consisted of three old cottages, but it is now a low-slung building with paned ...
