We went to Kenya in January 2005 for three weeks. My partner had worked out there previously but it was my first visit. Rather than go to an all inclusive resort where they tell you not to leave the compound, we decided to look for private accomodation to rent. They tell you not to leave the compound due to it being dangerous but its only as dangerous as any other strange place you might visit!! You do have to have your wits about you but other than that its fine. Villa Mwangi is a private Holiday Cottage in Diani Beach. We found it on the internet and the pictures alone made you want to go!! It looked just like a private paradise. Rent a holiday villa

Advantages: Free issue - 404 pages! WOW!
Disadvantages: Its all Adverts - except for........

, quite brief, good pictures. The focus is Menorca as a holiday destination for families. The other articles include Rick Wakeman's Tenerife hideaway, an article on Provence, Cyprus, Lanzarote and a cruise to your villa write up. The ariticles are brief, informative, very positive about the experiences. They do encourage you to dive deeper into the magazine. There is also the inevitable continental cuisine write-up too. However the pictures are good quality, interesting varied and well printed. Each article stretches to two to three pages. A lot of care has gone into the presentation. The total editorial content stretches to 40 pages. Half of this is photographs. The editorial is at the front of the magazine. That's 10% of the total magazine. James Villa Holidays

Advantages: Great properties, unique experiences, wonderful holidays.
Disadvantages: None - although might not be suitable for all travelers

The villa itself is well equipped, with 3 bedrooms, a spacious living/dining area, well-stocked kitchen and an outdoor barbecue area. Once again, the James Villas literature was very accurate indeed. We have stayed at this villa another two times subsequently and each stay has been as magical as the first. Our stay in La Boheme in Playa Blanca in Lanzarote was just as amazing as our other holidays with James Villas. La Boheme, around a 20 minute walk or ?3 taxi from Playa Blanca itself, is a single-level villa with a roof terrace and heated pool. Once again, the description was very accurate and the company representative was very helpful.
