I have recently been to Austria on holiday, as a regular traveller I have visited Austria on many occasions during the winter and the summer. During the winter the mountains are amazing and there is some great skiing to be done. But not many people visit Austria during the summer. If you are contemplating taken a summer break there are a number of places to visit and things you you must do while your there. First things first, Places to visit. Salzburg. This city is one place you must visit, it offers too many places of interest to mention, but one way to see all of theses is to take one of the many guided tours around the city, such as the Sound Of Music tour which visits the buildings etc used in the film. Innsbruck. Another huge city, with Horse drawn carriages being the best way to tour this city, with its huge mountains as a backdrop. There is also a train that runs up the side of these mountains and gives you a great veiw over the city. Also visit the world famous Bergisel ski jump, which dominates the skyline on the outskirts of Innsbruck towards Italy, this is where Eddie the Eagle made his name, and if you stand at the top of the jump, the first thing you and all the skiers will see at the bottom is THE GRAVEYARD. Kitzbuhel. Here you need to take the cable car to the summit of the Horn A peak at the top of a mountain, the cable car takes you in three stages to the very top where you can get some great photos. Krimmel Falls. Europes highest waterfall, fed by a glacier at the top, the falls run all year with millions of gallons of water feading the river Krimmel below, which then runs the whole length of the valley Aachensee Lake One of Austria's largest lakes, with beutifull green waters and surrounded by mountains the town of Petisau really is a quiet little town in the hills. try to take the boat trip around the lake for around 12 euros each. Kirchberg. Here you get the chance to see the tradditional Tyrolean Dancers. these are great shows full of humour and audience participation and last around 2hrs with lots of thigh slapping and footstamping. A real must see attraction, this one is the top show in the Tyrol.cost around 7 euros each.full bar facilities available. Hotels All hotelsin general are very good and only differ very slightly, they are all clean and offer great food. Do try the Goulash soup and a roll, its fantastic. As for travel, there are companys offering coach trips all over britain, and prices can be as little as £149 each for a 7 day trip.

Advantages: Excellent veiws and their is loads to do either in Kitzbuel and via day trips. Disadvantages: Eating out can get expensive, I suggest going half board as this will keep the cost down.
