Yes, Ok, the UCI cinema in the Trafford Centre is big, but big isn't always better (I'm a short-arse for the record). All though there are twenty screens, most of them are very small and not very nicely decorated, with just the bare essentials. The big screens are cool. They have surround sound ... Read review

All though there are twenty screens, most of them are very small and not very nicely decorated, with just the bare essentials. The big screens are cool. They have surround sound and air conditioning but they are FREEZING and you come out feeling like an ice cube. The staff are willing to help if you use your female charm (see the other report, written by one of my friends) but otherwise they are quite rude. The tickets are really expensive unless you get there before noon, but there are parctically no films on that early and it takes an hour to get there by bus.
Advantages: New, clean, polite staff Disadvantages: hard to find within the Trafford Centre
I find that the UCI cinema in the Trafford Centre, near Manchester is the best in the area. The travel to this area is very good from all areas of Manchester. On a Saturday there are normally many buses every hour and you are never waiting very long. The staff at the front and inside are very polite and helpful, for example my friend lost her bag and instantly there were about five men with torches helping her to look. They found it. There are 20 ...

Advantages: Excellent seating, superb parking, excellent quality picture/sound Disadvantages: A little remote unless you have a car. Expensive refreshments.
From the word go this cinema is simply a joy to visit. I booked over the automated phone line and just picked up my ticket on arrival from a machine without any queueing whatsoever. Due to its many, many screens, there's always a good choice of movies. The concessionary stands are all very good - the usual mix of pick'n'mix but with the added bonus of a Ben & Jerry's ice cream stand (yum!) - but have the usual 'where on earth did these prices come ... ...paying the (very reasonable) £5.20 per head entrance fee. The seats are all very comfy and the head of the person in front must reach no higher than your knees, giving you an excellent, uninterrupted view of the crystal clear screen. Sound is excellent too so, in my opinion, this is the cinema of choice for miles around. ...

Advantages: Prices Disadvantages: Rudeness of staff, dingy
I live in Manchester and have three cinemas in my local area. These are Virgin Stockport, UCITraffordCentre and the Odeon in Manchester. I find that by far the worst of these, for young people is the Odeon. As you enter the cinema, there is a dark smoky feel to the place. It feels dingy and unwelcoming. The counter is high and seems unforgiving. I find the staff rude and they seem to take pleasure in denying people access to films. I understand that I look small for my age but the people there say - Youre not getting in. Before I even get out my ID proving my age. I would recommend young people to use a different cinema, but it is fine for adults. ...
Advantages: Fantastic shops, facilities and entertainment Disadvantages: Can be very crowded, queues for all food outlets, restaurants
! The TraffordCentre hosts one of the magnificent UCI cinemas with 20 screens including IMAX (3D) there are a grand total of 44 places to get something to eat or drink ranging from, KFC, McDonalds, Chinese, Indian, Pizza places. You name it; it?s there. The cinema and most of the food outlets are situated in The Orient part of the centre, easy to find, slap bang in the middle on both floors. This is the only place where smoking is permitted in designated areas.
The Traffordcentre has a ground floor and first floor with access by escalator, stairs and lifts. They advise anyone using buggies, pushchairs or wheelchairs to use the lifts. Although I?m not disabled myself I do have difficulty with stairs, the TraffordCentre has received many awards and one of them is ?positive about disabled people? they also received a national safety award 2000 by ...
Advantages: Free to park, lots of shops and decent entertainment sections too. Disadvantages: Gets busy at weekends, some very expensive places to shop and eat.
, serving a decent menu at reasonable prices.
Upstairs we get a little more serious. On one side is “New Orleans”, with places like The Bagel Shop, Starbucks and a Mantos Bar (open till 1am weekends!) There’s a great pace called the Exchange Bar and Grill, doing all kinds of steaks and burgers. There's also a place called Ma Potters that does a great full English Breakfast.
On the other side we have some really nice eateries. There is an Indian called Shere Khan, which I highly recommend. We have a Chinese restaurant and a Feed The Five Thousand cafe, as well as a rather posh restaurant for those special nights out.
Also, throughout the Centre you will come across lots of small cafes and the irresistible Millie's Cookies, perfect to snack while you shop.
Entertainment.
