Hello my friends on Ciao! Hope you are all well and good; I have been away for a while as many of you know traveling the globe! I have so many reviews to write from my trip and have decided to start in order of the places I have visited! First stop LA baby!
USA Hostel Hollywood was the first hostel I stayed in on my trip and with nothing else to compare it too I have to say I was very impressed, on arrival the staff were very efficient and helpful in booking us in quickly and showing us to our room, we also got a tour of the hostel and were shown all of the facilities straight away.
Situated just off the Hollywood Boulevard this hostel is very convenient to find and is close to all major attractions, the Chinese Theatre is about 5 mins walk away and Universal Studios is only 2 train stops away.

Also if you are staying for more than two nights at the hostel you can get your bus shuttle from the airport refunded so make sure you keep your receipt.
The reception is run 24 hours a day which is great for security and for convenience, the staff at the hostel are very welcoming and full of local information about sightseeing and tours.
Our room was a 6 bed female only with en suite bathroom, bunk beds were provided and sheets are also included in the price, I was very impressed that full length lockers were free of charge in our rooms big enough to fir your whole backpack in, the only thing you have to provide is a lock, if you don't have then these are available for purchase at the reception for only $4. The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was one of the cleanest I have experienced so far on my trip.
The kitchen is of a good size and free all you can eat American pancakes are provided every morning from 7am - 10am, you have to cook them yourself but instructions are available for novices like myself and they are very easy to make. Fridges are provided for you to store your food, just make sure that you label everything with your name, room number and departure date.
If you want to chill out and relax at the hostel then they have a small chill out area with bean bags, games and books, they also have a bar area with a TV. The bar is open every evening with a range of cheap drinks and specials. We sampled some of the $2 margaritas and they were very good indeed, the bar basically stays open as long as people are drinking in it.
LA is not the safest of places to explore in the evening on your own so the hostel put on a guided pub crawl to 3 bars and 3 night clubs, this cost only $15 and was a great way to meet people and experience the Hollywood nightlife. If you have more money to burn then they also have an evening where you can get picked up in Limo and driven around the bars and clubs and drink free champagne.
If you don't want to venture out then the hostel also have many things to offer in the evening including a $5 all you can eat BBQ twice a night and an Open Mic Night and Stand Up Comedy evening.
In the day the hostel also offers some great trips including a walk around Beverly Hills showing you the homes of the stars for just $15 compared to the ones you can buy elsewhere for $40+, they also have a great notice board in reception with all the things you can do in LA and takeaway information sheets telling you how to get to places the cheapest way possible by public transport. This was great for us as we were on a tight budget; we found out that we could get a bus for just $1 and then walk to the Hollywood Sign! Bargain!!
The cost to stay in this hostel is very cheap for what you get, the rates can change throughout the seasons and cheaper rates can be found if you book online or have a VIPdiscount card so check the website for more information: www.usahostels.com

Overall I was very impressed with this hostel my only advice would be that it can be noisy in the evenings so if you are on a busy schedule and don't have time to party or for an afternoon nap then this might not be the place for you!
