All Hands On Deck
Advantages: Lovely location, tasty food, good prices Disadvantages: It's in America and I'm not
...a lot of travelling around the States, we visited a great many restaurants and diners but only one really made such an impression on us that I felt I had to write about it. From a virtually empty diner in the Desert Centre near Joshua Tree National Park to Denny's in San Francisco and Vegas, we visited a fine selection and I have to say we didn't have one bad meal the whole time we were out there but this one was a little bit special.
Situated around ... ...to stop off at the beautiful area known as Dana Point in Orange County. We had decided to take our time travelling from San Diego up to LA and took the Pacific Coast Highway to see all the magnificent beaches up the Californian coastline. Dana Point is situated at the southern end of this highway and as we hadn't been very hungry when we left San Diego we were getting quite peckish and ready for something substantial to fill our bellies.

Not For Cheapskates.
Advantages: Great food; courteous staff; clean restaurants. Disadvantages: Hideous orange and white decor; limited menu choices; fairly high prices.
Whataburger is most familiar to Texans. It seems like every time I mention this burger chain’s name to a person who has not at least visited this part of the United States, I am met with “Huh? What’s that?” But, I know good and well that this popular chain exists outside of my state even though most seem to be unfamiliar with its existence.
The chain has been around since the fifties, which explains the “retro” ... ...building shaped like an “A” with fins. Lovely.
Generally Whataburger locations are easily accessible, with plenty of parking space and a large drive-thru lane. Thankfully, most kids hate it because there is no play area for them – which means I’ve got more room to park my vehicle, and I do not have to inspect my seat and table for greasy handprints before sitting down to enjoy my meal.
