As you cruise away from the shore, you look back to see the ghats (platforms) where the people wash their clothes and themselves. The water appears clean, but lurking in the crevices by the walls an accumulation of scum and debris makes one shudder at the thought of the bugs to be picked up by the unwary traveller. On the other side of the lake is a small island palace called Jag Mandir. It is surrounded by marble elephants and has a wonderful quietness about it. There is a domed room at the top of the building that has the most incredible accoustics. If you don’t feel too foolish try humming a tune, it makes the best bathroom music you could imagine. Far out into the lake the view of the City Palace is spectacular and as the sun sets the white marble turns a rosy pink. I found it to be a completely moving experience, a moment in time that gave an exquisite impression of India.

Namaste everybody,
I just come back of 8 weeks in India. For this trip I was in Calcutta, Assam ( Kaziranga N.P. ), Uttaranchal ( Corbett N.P. ), Rajasthan ( Keoladeo & Ranthambhor N.P. ), Madhya Pradesh ( Bandhavgardh N.P. ), Varanasi, Udaipur and Jaipur.
I was using for second time the services of Real India Tours for reserving my hotels and Guest Houses ( I choose them myself ), a car with driver ( An Ambassador with a great driver speaking really good english and driving really safelly ), booking the jeepsys, guides and routes for the differents National Parks, Planes and trains tickets.
Everythings were perfect, no commission men , no visits of Shops, only what I previous; that was really great.
