Advantages: good effort Disadvantages: hot: remarkably average attractions
...You can see what they are trying to make on Sentosa. They want to make some sort of Singaporean mini-Disney land with the Merlion, Singapore's emblem as their Mickey Mouse.
Of course, Sentosa is hard pushed to live up to that. The cable car ride there across the busy shipping ports, an entrepot to Asia, is good fun - if not for those of you who have vertigo! But the island is a good idea badly carried out. The water park has some great rides, but safety is neglected and the pools aren't particularly clean. In addition most of the rides seem to be shut.
Transport, by free monorail on the island, is good. So are some of the museum-like attractions. The central plazas are pretty but deserted and so perhaps the best part of the island are the cool, perfect beaches to its south.
Overall, the island is worth a day-trip to, to contrast...

Advantages: Peace and Quiet away from a hectic schedule. Disadvantages: No en-suite facilities, local ferry leaves from the beach at 05.00 every morning, Ghecco's are very noisy at night
...Lembongan island is Paradise on earth. Travel to the island is through an Australian company based in Bali and is advertised in the hotels as the Hi tide huts. We took the plunge and were very impressed. We were looking for something "different" having travelled the length and breadth of Bali with local people in a 4 wheel drive.
The journey to the island is by sea and can be done as a day trip, there is a lot missed if only going for a day. The huts look very primative when you arrive at the island being made from straw and standing on stilts on the beach. There is a ladder to get to your detached room and the bathroom and shower is a 100 mtr dash but more than worth it. The island is very sparcely populated with the huts on the south coast and a village of sea weed farmers on the north. Once the boat has returned to Bali and the day...

Advantages: Unique untouched country Disadvantages: none really, ok no good for shopping ;-)
...Today I take you to maybe the most beautiful place in the world! Kangeroo Island is a Island off the coast of Adalaide in South Australia. In the 18 hundreds it was James Cook who was the first white man to visit this magnificent Island. An until today it is still a very remote Island.
ITS UNIQUE LANDSCAPE
Kangeroo Island is because of its setting far away of the main Tourist Attractions of Australia (Ayers Rock, Cairns, Sydney, …) still very untouched. Only 1/3 of the road system is sealed road. And this only happened in the past 3 years, when the main highway in the south was finished. Travelling on the unsealed roads with its red soil is still a great experience for us Europeans even if it gets pretty rough some times!
ITS UNIQUE WILDLIFE
The most spectacular thing about Kangeroo Island mind you is of course the Australian...
