I have flown United as my airline of choice to the US since 1996. Have done about 20 round trips without any bad experiences. Flights have been on time, never missed a connection. The staff are friendly and helpful. Have found the aircraft to be comfortable, a major point when you are on one for over 10 hours, and the food of a good standard. All that and the ticket price is very competitive as well. On all the trips I have taken I have had to change onto a United domestic flight on arrival. UA have a good system to speed the connection and it is done with a minimum of fuss and stress going into the US. Coming home it is even easier all the gates are a short walk apart. The US staff if anything are even more friendly than their UK counterparts
