Centerparcs Longleat - what a wonderful time!
Review of Center Parcs by streames23

Advantages: Can particpate in as many/little activites as your budget allows, no cars allowed
Disadvantages: Restaurants can be expensive. Very hilly park

Having never been to Centerparcs before I was unsure what to expect. I booked up for a family holiday to Centerparcs in Longleat and we had a brilliant time. On arrival at our destination, we had a short queue to get our room keys and information (think we arrived at the busiest time of day!). With Centerparcs, the advantage is that there are no cars around the resort, apart from on specific arrival and departure days. After finding our villa, we ...
...After doing this we then take our car back to the car park where it remains for the duration of our stay. The villa we stayed in was a comfort plus villa which we were upgraded free to. We had 3 bedrooms which were spacious. The whole villa was spacious. The kitchen facilities were ample and we did stay in a number of times and cooked. There is an outdoor area with table and chairs to take advantage of right outside your villa. For those of you ... Read review

Fun and relaxing family holiday
Review of Pontins by Sare200175

Advantages: Nice location - excellent transport links
Disadvantages: Short staffed in restaurants

...spent a long weekend at Pontins Southport. I visited the site 13 years ago and found it was tatty and grubby, but after being offered a free chalet as part of a Pontins marketing campaign, I decided to try the centre again and was pleasantly surprised with what I found. The site has much improved, has much more to offer now and is just perfect for families looking for a traditional holiday camp break. The chalets are in blocks and rows as they are ...
...My overall experience of this Pontins site was very good and if they could just deal with the staffing problems in the restaurants, I would rate this site as above average for a fun but relaxing family holiday. Ofcourse my holiday was free, but when concidering the Pontins tariffs compared with other holiday centres, I will definatey be paying to holiday at pontins again! ... Read review

Time out in The Brecon Beacons
Review of Brecon Mountain Railway by Coloneljohn

Advantages: Fresh air, Steam Train, Nature
Disadvantages: Hard Seats

The Brecon Mountain Railway A narrow Gauge line That runs beside the Taff Fechan Reservoir in Wales. The Station building at Pant is built into the side of the hill at the starting point of this railway. It is built mainly on the track bed of the old Brecon & Merthyr Railway. After this was closed, like so many others in the 60's the land was sold to local farmers. When in 1972 an engineer was looking for a site to run renovated narrow gauge engines ...
...the site of the original Pant Station so a new one with workshops was built slightly further down the hill. The station opens at 09.30am and the first train is at 11.00am The season is from end March to End of October. On some days in peak season the final daily train is at 05.00pm rather than at 04.00pm Some days from April to June and again in October no trains are run.Timetable on web site should be checked to avoid disappointment. On entering ... Read review

Butlins Bognor Regis
Review of Butlins by stevengerrard

Advantages: Entertainment for young children
Disadvantages: Accomodation standards need improving

I think Butlins is a fantastic holiday for young children however not so good for teenagers. There is plenty of entertainment including character appearances, shows, swimming pool and early evening entertainment for children. There is also later evening entertainment for adults. The accommodation is not great, but most of it in Bognor is being knocked down and rebuilt so should improve in the next few years. I would recommend staying in the hotel ... Read review

Chased Away
Review of The Chace Hotel, Coventry by elfbwillow

Advantages: Impressive Victorian Architecture
Disadvantages: Not up to Expectations

On first view of the outside of this hotel, you are met with a wonderous and impressive victorian architectural sight, which gives such a welcoming feel, unusual from other hotels around this area. The well kept gardens which surround this hotel also heightens your expectations. *****The Hotel: Outside***** The first thing which catches your eye is the beautiful oak panelling of the main lounge bar area, which is situated to the left of the main ...
...small reception tucked away nearer the back, which is both good and bad. It is not easily seen at first sight which can both be annoying and uninviting, especially to business guests, yet I do feel that it is put there to keep with the atmosphere of the entrance hall, and it actually works! The bar area itself is extremely pleasant and welcoming. The seating is so comfortable that you could literally fall asleep in them, especially if the large fireplace ... Read review
