~ BICESTER ~
Advantages: Great shopping Centres e.g- Bicester Village , Nice hotels, Good houses. Disadvantages: Traffic from M40, A Little pricey.
~ BICESTER ~ As some of may know I am relocating to the Oxford area next week and I am moving from Bath to the town of Bicester. Before my boyfriend was based there I had not ever heard of it. I was just happy my boyfriend was moved in the country after six months in Canada. As this will become my new home from the 17th December, I thought I would write a quick review about the town and what I will have nearby. Bicester is a small historical town ... ...INFO ~ Bicester is situated in the county of Oxfordshire and is five minutes away from the city of Oxford. For the past few months I have been driving to and from Bicester and the journey from Bath takes around 90 – 120 minutes. I travel up the M4 and head for Oxford and now I know the journey very well. Bicester has many links to large cities and is only an hour away from London by the M40. There is quite a lot of history in Bicester and links to ...

Visit Robin Hoods Bay, a quirky picturesque village just outside
Advantages: Outstanding scenery, themed weekends, friendly locals, sea air! Disadvantages: Absolutely none - oh the hill!
Robin Hood's Bay is in my opinion one of the most beautiful places to visit in this country. Situated just a few miles south of Whitby, there is so much to see and do as well as beautiful landscapes to explore. Having just come back from my 4th trip there, I am eager to book my next trip away at the beggining of next year.
Robin Hoods Bay itself is a small village full of lovely little shops, sweet shops, a few pubs and a beautiful beach. The Old ... ...the locals. The Robin Hood's Bay Museum is totally run by volunteers and is really interesting. The things to view include a history of the village and it gives thorough detail of the many shipwrecks that have washed up on the coast near Robin Hoods Bay over the years. Watch out for the local fisherwife!!
Farsyde Riding Centre is a great place to visit with the children, allowing both experienced and inexperienced horse riders to trek along the ...

Colonsay - one of Scotland's best kept secrets
Advantages: Quiet, tranquil, peaceful - life as it should be Disadvantages: Expensive cost of living, transport links few and far between
...am I talking about? The Isle of Colonsay, of course. Location, location, location – idyllic but with its own problems Colonsay lies about five miles north of Rhuvaal Lighthouse, on Islay’s northernmost tip, and about the same distance from the uninhabited north-western shoreline of Jura. It is about eight miles from the northernmost point on Colonsay to Rudha Ardalanish on the Isle of Mull, just south of Bunessan, and the Torran Rocks south ... ...Dhu Heartach skerry and lighthouse lies to the west, some 18 miles away – beyond that, the next landfall is North America! Immediately off Colonsay’s southern coastline is the much smaller island of Oronsay, connected at low tide by sand flats which it is reasonably safe to drive a 4x4 over, providing you know the correct route. Colonsay itself is about eight miles from top to toe, and around three miles across at its widest point. Despite occupying ...

5500 deer and 210 people!
Advantages: Quiet yet wild, remote but civilised, no queues for anything! Disadvantages: Relatively difficult and expensive to get to, cost of living is higher
...could almost sum up the Isle of Jura using those few words, and I’ve seen brief references to the island in guidebooks on Scotland do just that. However, that’s really short-changing the island and its people, so I’m going to try and do Jura some justice, give it the five-star treatment and pack as much detail as I can, gleaned from just a single visit back in May 2009. I do want to return to the island at some point – but its relative isolation ... ...ferry (the “Eilean Dhuira”, or Isle of Jura) from Port Askaig to Feolin Ferry on Jura. You can also take the ferry from Kennacraig to Port Ellen on Islay, then drive via Bowmore and Bridgend to get to Port Askaig – the journey across Islay taking just less than an hour. Not only does it take time to get to the island, therefore, but also added expense – the return ferry fare across the Sound of Islay is in the region of £16 for one person and a small ...
