Most comfortable
Review of Sofitel London Gatwick, Crawley by
jesciao
Advantages: Very comfortable stay, convenient location
Disadvantages: none
It's sad to stay just one night but quite expensive to stay more than one, we paid 180 pounds for one night for a double room on the Executive level breakfast included, that was the walk in rate-we did not have reservations. Due to flight changes we needed a hotel at the last minute and one definitely close to the airport. My boyfriend was basically in transit on a business trip so it was nice that it was paid for by the company. Check in was quick. ... ...relaxed as soon as you enter. Fully equipped with a minibar and satellite TV. The bed is such a dream you just don't want to get out of it. The breakfast was simple; basic cereals coffee, tea, juice yogurt with excellent pastries though. Perfect for a really good night stay ...

One of Bolton's finest hotels.
Review of Macdonald Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa, Bolton by
jamidomobilio
Advantages: Beautiful location, close to good pubs and restaurants
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
My partner and myself enjoy staying in hotels just outside our local area, and the Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa was a destination we had been intending to try for a while.
The village itself is very quaint and surrounds the hotel which is well known around the area as an exclusive and rather expensive hotel experience. The nearest village to the hotel is Bromley Cross which is a ten minute walk away and is well supplied with all the pubs and ... ...required rather than a relaxing night in, sampling the many facilities of probably the finest hotel in this area.
The hotel itself is rather sprawling and quirky, and is more a complex than a bonafide village in it's own right. The hotel is very traditional and not in the least like some low market travel lodge. The facilities include an impressive gym, an infinity pool, a jacuzzi and some of the most helpful and delightful staff that we have encountered ...

Great hotel
Review of Best Western Chine Hotel, Bournemouth by
beanie8844
Advantages: lovely rooms, nice food and fab facilities
Disadvantages: none really
I recently stayed overnight at the chine hotel in Bournemouth whilst in the area for a friends wedding. It is currently rated as a three star hotel, but I cannot for the life of me see why as I found it to be of at least four star standard. There are 86 rooms, all of which incorporate an en suite bathroom and are decorated to a decent standard. All rooms include a hair dryer, trouser press, direct dial telephone, satellite television (selected channels ... ...There are four types of rooms available in relation to the view they offer the guests. The basic room is an inland room, then there is a garden facing room and finally the sea views and sea views with balcony (the prices are slightly higher for these). The hotel has a fantastic restaurant which serves breakfast and dinner daily (breakfast is accompanied in the room price; however you have to pay extra for the dinner if you want it - although it is ...

Treat Her Like a Lady...
Review of Swallow Belstead Brook Hotel, Ipswich by
raeisthehippychick
Advantages: sumptious surroundings & food. Excellent customer service. Value for money
Disadvantages: One or two very slightly shabby areas. I don't like buffet style breakfasts.
A few weeks ago I decided it was high time I had another treat (I am very good at this) and was in the mood for some sumptuous swankiness (when aren't I?). I decided to surprise my lovely fella with a weekend away in Suffolk. After a good google my search was narrowed to two nice looking country hotels on the outskirts of shopping centres. I am all for the whole countryside nature walks thing but a girl still needs to shop you know. One hotel had ... ...the outskirts of Ipswich we were off to!
I booked over the phone and was very pleased with the politeness, efficiency and friendliness of the receptionist. She confirmed prices, times and directions. I booked a breakaway deal so the price was £69.50 per person per night; not cheap, but not excessive as it included dinner, bed and breakfast
On Fridays I am lucky enough to leave work at lunchtime so, with my bag securely packed and stowed in the ...

Rude, disinterested staff
Review of Macdonald St. Paul's Hotel, Sheffield by
kazparr
Advantages: fabulous rooms and function suites
Disadvantages: terrible food, god awful staff
I agree whole heartedly with the other reviewers comments. I have stayed there twice now,for my partners works christmas party last year and the year before. The rooms are stunning with amazing views but unfortunately the staff are rude at worst and disinterested and ineffectual at best.
The food at the parties was ok for mass catering and the entertainment that accompanied the meal was superb!! unlike the previous reviewer my experience of the ... ...so I ordered from the breakfast menu, I ordered the mackerel with poached egg and was told it will take 15 mins to cook, after 25 mins they came back and told me sorry there isn't any mackerel but you can have kippers so I chose the kippers with poached egg, 20 mins later it arrived, to my horror the kipper was stone cold and raw, I complained to the waitress and she went away in a very surly manner leaving the cold uncooked food in front of me and ...
