Agatha Christie sort of hotel
Advantages: quietly luxurious but not pretentious Disadvantages: None
...a few days away near the coast in England but want to stay somewhere just that little bit more grown up and luxurious then this could be the place for you.
The Grand hotel in Eastbourne is an Agatha Christie type hotel. You draw up on the drive and there is someone there offering to take your bags. When you walk in, you walk into a wonderful high ceilinged cavernous public area where the seating is arranged around fireplaces, paintings adorn walls ... ...an enjoyable stay.
On the left is a morning/lounge room where you can sit and have tea and cakes, help yourself to the complimentary fruit and newspapers or just watch the world go by. On the right is a ballroom style dining room. There are lifts up to the bedrooms which are of a good standard and have good proportions. There were complimentary bottles of mineral water alongside the tea/coffee making facilities and our bathroom was kitted out with ...

A Wedding to Remember
Advantages: Close to Gatwick, Excellent View & Facilities Disadvantages: No Spa or Health Facilities Available
...Row near East Grinstead)
* South Lodge Hotel and Camellia Restaurant (in Lower Beeding close to Horsham).
All 3 venues were chosen due to my sister living in Northern Ireland, originally from Surrey where I live but wanting to be married within close proximity of her roots.
I will keep my comments brief regarding Alexander House and Ashdown Park as my review centers on South Lodge.
I didnt visit Alexander House but I was advised that the ceremony ... ...really of this occasion were South Lodge Hotel and Ashdown Park but overall South Lodge is the winner.
They provide the services of their very own wedding co-ordinator with the option of ceremonies and formal receptions being available for up to 130 guests increasing up to 200 people for an informal evening event.
We were most impressed with their level of service, as soon as we arrived, we were ushered to the nearest chairs to wait for the wedding ...

Christmas at Cranage
Advantages: Attractive hotel, good facilities, excellent party atmosphere Disadvantages: Expensive bar prices, rude waiting staff
...with his work colleagues at Cranage Hall which is in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. As this was some distance from home, we treated ourselves to a night away in the hotel without the kids, making a good night even better! Cranage Hall is part of the Principal Hayley group of conference venues and hotels but for us it was the setting of our Christmas 'do' and a well-deserved night away. Christmas Deals
Our party had taken advantage of one of the ... ...when we pulled up outside Cranage Hall. The exterior is very grand and imposing and it was much bigger than I expected. Our sat nav managed to direct us to the hotel without any problems as the hotel is just a couple of miles out of Holmes Chapel, in the village of Cranage. There was more than adequate car parking available, despite the hotel being packed with other Christmas revellers, although it did mean a short walk over to the main entrance ...

This place should be more than 3 stars!
Advantages: Beautiful location, friendly staff and clean, functional rooms Disadvantages: Too far away from my house!
At the end of November - my Dad was married in Scotland. He booked the Tigh Na Mara hotel out for all the family, this included all the rooms they hotel has so I can helpfully rate the hotel as a whole. The hotel offers bed and breakfast accommodation. The hotel also has a bar/pub, and around the back is a restaurant. Both of these are open to the public. The picture which is displayed for the Tigh Na Mara isn't correct - I will attach the correct ... ...beach, which is unspoilt. Opposite The Tigh Na Mara hotel is a park, which consists of 2 adult swings, 2 baby swings, a slide and a see-saw. Also in the village is a Tea Room and a post office/mini-market. The rest is made up of quaint village houses, and the hotel, pub and restaurant of the Tigh Na Mara. Nearby Attractions Located nearby is the town of Stranraer, where ferries can be taken to Ireland. Port Patrick, The Mull of Galloway - which ...

A good nights sleep before your jollies!
Advantages: Clean, close to the airport and decent rooms Disadvantages: None I could find
...the night before in the Holiday inn Gatwick. This is my opinion on the hotel as I was quite pleased with the place and thought it would be worth recommending to others who may need an airport hotel at Gatwick.
Booking:
I booked my room over the phone - I had no choice to do it this way because I receive discounted rates that are only book able over the phone. However it was very quick to get through, easy to book and the gentleman I spoke to was ... ...booked to stay at the Holiday Inn Heathrow but, changed to Gatwick because of flights and was not charged for the amendment as it was done before 1pm on day arrival and the gentleman I spoke to the second time was also very pleasant and quick to help. I cannot fault the booking service at all so give them a thumbs up for this - plus once booked I am able to view it online in my profile.
Getting to the hotel:
We arrived from Gatwick airport and ...
