The perfect romantic getaway
Advantages: Beautiful rooms, great service Disadvantages: Expensive
...never paid to stay at the Chester Grosvenor myself - but have stayed here for business for at least 6 weeks per year for the past 5 years. Value for money it isnt but if you are not paying then enjoy the ride!
The hotel is centrally located in the middle of Chester - if you are driving to the hotel then you have to navigate a slightly confusing one way system but having won that challenge you park in the NCP carpark (free for hotel residents). You ... ...The staff cannot do enough for you - reception, down on the ground floor is always manned - the doorman wears a top hat but he always smiles and says hello. Reception staff are friendly and welcoming - they are always happy to recommend restaurants or activities to do in Chester.
The hotel decor is old fashioned - like an English country house but it has recently been done. The bedrooms have a modern twist - comfortable super king sized beds, attractive ...

Butlins Value!
Advantages: Lots to do Disadvantages: The Extras can add up ££
...Of all the holiday parks, Butlins does seem to get the best acts to perform. There are childrens clubs, activities and play areas as well.
+Facilities+
On the downside, by the time you've paid for all the extras like trampolines, side stalls, go carts, bungee trampolines and arcade machines it doesn't leave much for yourself! So if you can, give the kids a strict limit on the amount of extras they can have!!!
Most of the facilities are based in ... ...good as the funfair at Butlins in Skegness. However, the rides were free (apart from the go karts) and as I mentioned in my review of Butlins in Skegness, what more do you want included in the price.. Most holiday parks don't have any more free facilities than a swimming pool and evening entertainment, so having half a dozen free funfair rides is a bonus at any cost. The funfair did close at tea time, as did the play areas. The main childrens play ...

A mock medieval marvel
Advantages: Beautiful surroundings Disadvantages: value for money
Introduction:
From the outside, Bailiffscourt appears to be a numer of low medieval buildings, some thatched and some tiled. However, all is not as it seems - the hotel was actually built in 1927 by the late Sir Walter Guinness (Lord Moyne) as a family retreat using original stone, woodwork and gothic mullioned windows gathered from all over England (and all to stop the local council from building a housing estate near the family home!). The hotel ... ...very atmospheric!
Health Spa:
Bailiffscourt now has a Health Spa in the grounds of the hotel with indoor and outdoor pools, steam room, sauna, outdoor Californian-style hot tub and integrated indoor Jacuzzi (I haven't tried these facilities yet but will be making full use of them on my next visit!) The spa offers a number of treatments to pamper yourself although as I believe the spa is also open to the general public it is probably best to book ...

Whittlebury, somewhere to whittle a few luxurious hours away
Advantages: Excellent value, great food, comfotatble rooms and pleasant helpful staff Disadvantages: We kept getting lost but that was prabably our uselessness!
WHERE IS THIS? Whittlebury Hall, Whittlebury, Nr Towcester, Northamptonshire, NN12 8QH. This is a hotel, Management Training Centre, leisure centre and day spa as well as a golf course. It is just near Silverstone racetrack so I suspect it might get busy when there is a big race there so this might be a time to avoid. I booked through Lastminute.com but then I did phone the hotel directly after booking in order to find out more about the spa and ... ...I would thoroughly recommend Whittlebury Hall hotel and spa as I felt it was fantastic value for money. There are a number of packages on offer besides the one I bought on Lastminute.com and over the Christmas and New Year period they are offering stays including dinner and breakfast for £49 per person per night which at the time of year is amazing value. If you are interested then this is the link to the hotel website: http://www.whittleburyhall.co.uk/Index.asp ...

Christmas at Cranage
Advantages: Attractive hotel, good facilities, excellent party atmosphere Disadvantages: Expensive bar prices, rude waiting staff
...with his work colleagues at Cranage Hall which is in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. As this was some distance from home, we treated ourselves to a night away in the hotel without the kids, making a good night even better! Cranage Hall is part of the Principal Hayley group of conference venues and hotels but for us it was the setting of our Christmas 'do' and a well-deserved night away. Christmas Deals
Our party had taken advantage of one of the ... ...when we pulled up outside Cranage Hall. The exterior is very grand and imposing and it was much bigger than I expected. Our sat nav managed to direct us to the hotel without any problems as the hotel is just a couple of miles out of Holmes Chapel, in the village of Cranage. There was more than adequate car parking available, despite the hotel being packed with other Christmas revellers, although it did mean a short walk over to the main entrance ...
