A mock medieval marvel
Advantages: Beautiful surroundings Disadvantages: value for money
Introduction:
From the outside, Bailiffscourt appears to be a numer of low medieval buildings, some thatched and some tiled. However, all is not as it seems - the hotel was actually built in 1927 by the late Sir Walter Guinness (Lord Moyne) as a family retreat using original stone, woodwork and gothic mullioned windows gathered from all over England (and all to stop the local council from building a housing estate near the family home!). The hotel ... ...very atmospheric!
Health Spa:
Bailiffscourt now has a Health Spa in the grounds of the hotel with indoor and outdoor pools, steam room, sauna, outdoor Californian-style hot tub and integrated indoor Jacuzzi (I haven't tried these facilities yet but will be making full use of them on my next visit!) The spa offers a number of treatments to pamper yourself although as I believe the spa is also open to the general public it is probably best to book ...

Would I pay for it?
Advantages: beautiful old house, lots of facilities Disadvantages: mainly caters for the (much) older generation
...three-night half board break at Holme Lacy House near Hereford in a competition on the First Great Western website - yippee!
A few days later I received a Warner Leisure Hotels brochure and a voucher saying that I had been awarded a 3 Night Weekend break for two people to be taken by 1st May 2008 - how to book details (telephone) were on the voucher.
I didn't know much about Warner apart from the fact that it was adults only and my husband, who ... ...look at the brochure and Holme Lacy House looked beautiful although I was somewhat put-off by the fact that the brochure shows mainly older people enjoying pursuits such as bowls, which is not our thing at all! ~~Booking~~
Having forgotten about it for a few months, we were thinking about going away for a weekend for my birthday in February and remembered we had this break to use. Last minute as always, I called the booking number on the voucher ...

Christmas at Cranage
Advantages: Attractive hotel, good facilities, excellent party atmosphere Disadvantages: Expensive bar prices, rude waiting staff
...with his work colleagues at Cranage Hall which is in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. As this was some distance from home, we treated ourselves to a night away in the hotel without the kids, making a good night even better! Cranage Hall is part of the Principal Hayley group of conference venues and hotels but for us it was the setting of our Christmas 'do' and a well-deserved night away. Christmas Deals
Our party had taken advantage of one of the ... ...when we pulled up outside Cranage Hall. The exterior is very grand and imposing and it was much bigger than I expected. Our sat nav managed to direct us to the hotel without any problems as the hotel is just a couple of miles out of Holmes Chapel, in the village of Cranage. There was more than adequate car parking available, despite the hotel being packed with other Christmas revellers, although it did mean a short walk over to the main entrance ...

This place should be more than 3 stars!
Advantages: Beautiful location, friendly staff and clean, functional rooms Disadvantages: Too far away from my house!
At the end of November - my Dad was married in Scotland. He booked the Tigh Na Mara hotel out for all the family, this included all the rooms they hotel has so I can helpfully rate the hotel as a whole. The hotel offers bed and breakfast accommodation. The hotel also has a bar/pub, and around the back is a restaurant. Both of these are open to the public. The picture which is displayed for the Tigh Na Mara isn't correct - I will attach the correct ... ...beach, which is unspoilt. Opposite The Tigh Na Mara hotel is a park, which consists of 2 adult swings, 2 baby swings, a slide and a see-saw. Also in the village is a Tea Room and a post office/mini-market. The rest is made up of quaint village houses, and the hotel, pub and restaurant of the Tigh Na Mara. Nearby Attractions Located nearby is the town of Stranraer, where ferries can be taken to Ireland. Port Patrick, The Mull of Galloway - which ...
