All this from a Hotel?!

Advantages: Everything you need under one roof.
Disadvantages: Can prove to be very expensive.

...of this review but the Hilton at Coylumbridge really has so much to offer I didn't want to leave anything out!! Having heard a lot of good reports about the Hilton Coylumbridge just outside Aviemore, we have been trying for a few years now to stay there. The Hilton at Coylumbridge is well known for being a very good hotel for families, with lots to offer the kids. When our kids were younger we often tried to stay there but we either couldn’t get ...
...of miles outside Aviemore the Hilton Coylumbridge is situated in a 65 acre woodland estate within the Cairngorm National Park. Quite an impressive looking building from the outside the Hilton has ample car parking both in front of and behind the hotel. The hotel offers 175 guests rooms with a range of different guest rooms, family rooms and suites. They also have lodges suitable for up to 8 people within the hotel grounds. There is a conference room, ...

Review of Hilton Coylumbridge, Aviemore

Tired, rundown, overpriced, rubbish customer service

Advantages: Lucky not to get food poisning
Disadvantages: Staff are rubbish and hotel in state of disrepair

I have stayed in all grades of hotels all over the world but this one takes the prize for being a total joke. Its trying to be upper-class but can't even get the basics right. Check in - they got our name wrong on the booking, but when we tried to correct this with them they seemed totally perplexed on how to do it. The Stairs - leading to the bedrooms are broken so its very easy to trip and fall when using them. They also polish the handrails ...
...and can't grip them. The Room - had water leak damage on the ceiling in 3 separate locations. The toilet cistern lid was broken in half. The shower/bath was very run down with lime scale everywhere and the tile grouting needed replaced. The Bed - sheets had a burn mark on them, plain white sheets with a 50pence size burn mark and the chamber staff still put it on the bed. Not very professional. Room Key - had a massive lead weight attached to it ...

Great for the business traveller

Advantages: Location, clean, lovely rooms, gym
Disadvantages: None

Chester being a place I visit regularly with work means that I have stayed at a number of Chester hotels. Queens has, now become my regular for a number of reasons. It is located bang outside the train station which is excellent if you are travelling by rail as no need to wait for taxis or stagger into town. It is about 5 minutes walk from the town centre and about two minutes walk from the oldest curry house in Chester which is mindblowingly good! ...
...greeted by smiling staff and a lovely concierge (ask him for top places to eat in Chester - he is a fountain of knowledge!!!). There is sometimes sherry on arrival too which is nice. Now the rooms in the main hotel are nice but for a luxury stay ask for a room in the New Kings Extension. It only opened in October and is a few minutes walk from the reception but worth it. The rooms in the Kings section are beautiful, they are clean and very luxurious. ...

Review of Best Western The Queen Hotel, Chester

Chester best...

Advantages: Location; giant breakfasts
Disadvantages: Smaller rooms than I was expecting

We stayed here with the Tesco clubcard scheme last December and thoroughly enjoyed it. HOTEL LOCATION/DESCRIPTION The hotel is located immediately next to the Park & Ride for Chester Centre. This meant that we could leave our car in the hotel car park and walk the 50 metres to the park & ride. What an excellent location - it couldn't be more better placed for visitors to the city - no trying to park in the centre and getting lost! The hotel itself ...
...sized car park (I would imagine that it fills up before the hotel does given how busy it was when we arrived) and a stunning front elevation to the hotel. Very modern looking and gives a great first impression. Upon entering the hotel you immediately walk into a large open plan space which comprises a bar; seating area and large reception area. It's a very spacious area and they could have crammed more things into it, but it's to their credit that ...

Christmas at Cranage

Advantages: Attractive hotel, good facilities, excellent party atmosphere
Disadvantages: Expensive bar prices, rude waiting staff

...with his work colleagues at Cranage Hall which is in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. As this was some distance from home, we treated ourselves to a night away in the hotel without the kids, making a good night even better! Cranage Hall is part of the Principal Hayley group of conference venues and hotels but for us it was the setting of our Christmas 'do' and a well-deserved night away. Christmas Deals Our party had taken advantage of one of the ...
...when we pulled up outside Cranage Hall. The exterior is very grand and imposing and it was much bigger than I expected. Our sat nav managed to direct us to the hotel without any problems as the hotel is just a couple of miles out of Holmes Chapel, in the village of Cranage. There was more than adequate car parking available, despite the hotel being packed with other Christmas revellers, although it did mean a short walk over to the main entrance ...
