BEN MORE HOUSE Recommended stay in Berwick upon Tweed
Advantages: Breakfast and Location Disadvantages: None.
...but got two nights at Ben More House.
When we arrived, there were many NO VANCANCY signs up. It transpired it was Heritage Weekend with an OPEN DOORS policy, which meant FREE ENTRY to all places, what a bonus.
We arrived at Berwick Station bang on time (Well done CRoss Country Trains). although I had a Map printed, there is a good one outside the station.
Also checked bus times for Lindesfarne , service 477, runs Weds/Sat. Showed Dep at 12:15 ... ...to walk from station to Ben More House (only took about 15 mins), intreagued that we seemed to be also following signs for BEER & FOOD FESTIVAL this way.
Turned out that the Beer tent was only about 100 yards from Ben Mores front door.
Ben More is a 3 story Grade 2 listed Georgian Townhouse.
It has a spacious House Room on the first floor. The other two rooms are in the out building in the Garden.
A double called the Stable Room, this is the ...

Well presented and clean. The garden was bright and tidy and we all met in the hotel car park. Peaks and Troughs
Advantages: Location/ Attractive/ Leisure facilities Disadvantages: Inconsistent service/ Wi-Fi/ Bland rooms
My Wifes Mother and Father in law visited us last September. They reside in Portland, Oregon so we thought we'd treat them to a few days in the Peak District during their visit as they are keen walkers and lovers of countryside.
The hotel was said to have outstanding views over the Peak District, was 30 minutes from Manchester City Centre and had a self contained fitness centre and spa.
Three stars, spacious and luxurious rooms and only thirty ... ...BOOKING PROCESS
We booked via the internet and it was a very simple process indeed. Two rooms for £200 for the two nights bed and breakfast. Confirmation was sent via email immediately which we printed off so that we could present to reception upon our arrival. Payment would be taken after our departure.
GETTING THERE
We were travelling from South Yorkshire so it was a simple jaunt over the Pennines into Cheshire. Disley is located near Stockport ...

Christmas at Cranage
Advantages: Attractive hotel, good facilities, excellent party atmosphere Disadvantages: Expensive bar prices, rude waiting staff
...with his work colleagues at Cranage Hall which is in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. As this was some distance from home, we treated ourselves to a night away in the hotel without the kids, making a good night even better! Cranage Hall is part of the Principal Hayley group of conference venues and hotels but for us it was the setting of our Christmas 'do' and a well-deserved night away. Christmas Deals
Our party had taken advantage of one of the ... ...when we pulled up outside Cranage Hall. The exterior is very grand and imposing and it was much bigger than I expected. Our sat nav managed to direct us to the hotel without any problems as the hotel is just a couple of miles out of Holmes Chapel, in the village of Cranage. There was more than adequate car parking available, despite the hotel being packed with other Christmas revellers, although it did mean a short walk over to the main entrance ...

This place should be more than 3 stars!
Advantages: Beautiful location, friendly staff and clean, functional rooms Disadvantages: Too far away from my house!
At the end of November - my Dad was married in Scotland. He booked the Tigh Na Mara hotel out for all the family, this included all the rooms they hotel has so I can helpfully rate the hotel as a whole. The hotel offers bed and breakfast accommodation. The hotel also has a bar/pub, and around the back is a restaurant. Both of these are open to the public. The picture which is displayed for the Tigh Na Mara isn't correct - I will attach the correct ... ...beach, which is unspoilt. Opposite The Tigh Na Mara hotel is a park, which consists of 2 adult swings, 2 baby swings, a slide and a see-saw. Also in the village is a Tea Room and a post office/mini-market. The rest is made up of quaint village houses, and the hotel, pub and restaurant of the Tigh Na Mara. Nearby Attractions Located nearby is the town of Stranraer, where ferries can be taken to Ireland. Port Patrick, The Mull of Galloway - which ...
