Maid for a wonderful stay
Advantages: Historic property, recently refurbished rooms, good breakfast Disadvantages: Front desk staff who don't know what's going on
...summer I wound up selecting the four star Maids Head Hotel which is part of the Folio Hotels group. My parents spent a week there leading up to the wedding so we were in and out of the hotel all week. My brothers spent three nights in a room with two twins. My bridesmaids and I stayed in the Cathedral Suite the night before the wedding and then my husband and I stayed there the night of the wedding. Most of my husband's family also stayed in the ... ...feedback on the property. THE LOCATION The Maids Head Hotel is on the roundabout of the popular Tombland area in Norwich. There are a range of restaurant chains right on the doorstep including Whetherspoons, La Tasca, Café Uno and Zizzi's. It is also right next to the Norwich Cathedral. It is a walkable distance from both the railstation and bus station but those with luggage who are arriving to either of those locations would probably like to take ...

Something different in the Norfolk countryside
Advantages: Location, lovely rooms, friendly staff Disadvantages: Not easy to find, parking can be difficult at times
Not the easiest place to find but once found it is situated in a rather lovely part of the Norfolk countryside. During my stay in late June the hotel had suffered some minor flood damage the day before but this didn't effect my stay at all. The rooms with en-suite facilities are pleasantly decorated & well equipped with comfortable beds, TV, coffee making facilities & hair dryer. The main restaurant is on two levels & with fantastic views over the ...

Good service but with language problems.
Advantages: Views Disadvantages: Polish workers
Me and my partner stayed here in April and found the room and the hotel to be very comfortable.
It is definitely a 3 star hotel, I wouldn't rate it any higher.
We found the reception service extremely fast and efficient, mainly due to us being the only one's checking in at the time.
The bar area was well staffed, albeit by Polish workers who mistook my request for 3 packets of salt and vinegar crisps as 3 sambucca shots.
The hotel was clean and ... ...Room service was slightly pricey but that is what we expected for out of hours service.
Car parking was an issue as it was used by non-guests and that made it hard to find a space.
We were forced to park a Mercedes on the far edge of the car park in the darkness which was slightly worrying.
It is a family friendly hotel, as we saw children being well looked after and entertained by staff. ...

Christmas at Cranage
Advantages: Attractive hotel, good facilities, excellent party atmosphere Disadvantages: Expensive bar prices, rude waiting staff
...with his work colleagues at Cranage Hall which is in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. As this was some distance from home, we treated ourselves to a night away in the hotel without the kids, making a good night even better! Cranage Hall is part of the Principal Hayley group of conference venues and hotels but for us it was the setting of our Christmas 'do' and a well-deserved night away. Christmas Deals
Our party had taken advantage of one of the ... ...when we pulled up outside Cranage Hall. The exterior is very grand and imposing and it was much bigger than I expected. Our sat nav managed to direct us to the hotel without any problems as the hotel is just a couple of miles out of Holmes Chapel, in the village of Cranage. There was more than adequate car parking available, despite the hotel being packed with other Christmas revellers, although it did mean a short walk over to the main entrance ...

This place should be more than 3 stars!
Advantages: Beautiful location, friendly staff and clean, functional rooms Disadvantages: Too far away from my house!
At the end of November - my Dad was married in Scotland. He booked the Tigh Na Mara hotel out for all the family, this included all the rooms they hotel has so I can helpfully rate the hotel as a whole. The hotel offers bed and breakfast accommodation. The hotel also has a bar/pub, and around the back is a restaurant. Both of these are open to the public. The picture which is displayed for the Tigh Na Mara isn't correct - I will attach the correct ... ...beach, which is unspoilt. Opposite The Tigh Na Mara hotel is a park, which consists of 2 adult swings, 2 baby swings, a slide and a see-saw. Also in the village is a Tea Room and a post office/mini-market. The rest is made up of quaint village houses, and the hotel, pub and restaurant of the Tigh Na Mara. Nearby Attractions Located nearby is the town of Stranraer, where ferries can be taken to Ireland. Port Patrick, The Mull of Galloway - which ...
