Jurys Inn, Newcastle - Very clean reception and rooms for money. Advantages: Location to pubs bars, Disadvantages: car parking Jurys Inn - reasonable prices. Especially if being charged corporate rate as I was. Very clean courtyard and nice welcoming reception area. Rooms are not overly plush but are decent standard to get your head down in for one night. The only problem was the sound from the courtyard travels up to your rooms. If you are a light sleeper any noise from people returning from the pubs near by and collecting in the courtyard for a smoke before they go into ... ...only other issue is parking too. Its quite close to the hotel but because of the location of the hotel you might spend a couple of trips travelling round the ring road finding the nearest parking place. better than where i was gonna stay Advantages: cheap,good location Disadvantages: not many **Royal Station Hotel-Newcastle Initially my friend and i booked into a Travelodge but we decided very quickly that we needed another hotel and this is the one we ended up staying in. Location/Getting there This hotel is located right next to the train station which is fantastic,nothing worse than a long journey followed by having to find a hotel.There is loads of places to eat nearby,plenty to see and do.The bus station is also quite nearby ... ...Reception/staff The hotel looks really nice from the outside-a grand looking building.Reception looks really nice with big chandlers hanging from the ceiling and there are two lifts.Staff were nice and i had the option of paying straight away or when i checked out. Good budget comfort Advantages: Location; Price; Friendly; Comfortable Disadvantages: Breakfast; No Papers ...booked our night in the Premier Travel Inn because it's near the airport and so has a good road link to drive to it, and because it is handily located just across the road from a Metro station making it easy to get to the city centre. Booking online I selected a twin room, with two full breakfasts, coming in at a grand total of £75. The hotel is situated right next to the Wheatsheaf Pub, and after an initial confusion about which car park we go ... ...can you say about a Premier Travel Inn room? Basic but comfortable just about covers it. The two beds were large enough (I'm 6'3") with plenty of room round about, and a large desk with big TV (with all terrestrial channels) and coffee & tea making facilities. The bathroom, again, was perfectly clean, white-tiled, with a shower over bath. And again it was of a very good size. Premier Inn Gatwick - Exceptional value for money, comfy & clean! Advantages: Excellent value for money, very comfortable, clean and tasty food. Disadvantages: A bus ride away from the North terminal I have flown from Gatwick airport early in the morning on several occasions and have always found it much easier to stay the night before and leisurely wander over to the North Terminal in the morning rather than try and make my way down in the car or on the train. I have stayed at both the Sofitel at Gatwick and the Premier Inn therefore, will review both however please be aware this is for the Premier Inn at Gatwick. I have stayed at the Premier ... ...shower. The Premier Inn Gatwick has a restaurant downstairs as well as a bar where you can order food from their bar menu. The restaurant menu is simple but the food is good, and includes dishes such as Spaghetti Bolognese and steak (as of September 2009).
