Excellent atmosphere and accommodation
Advantages: Close to N Forest attractions, excellent service, quiet location Disadvantages: Not much parking space at front.
There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this place was - we spent a weekend there with our toddler and friends. The owner was extremely accommodating regarding children, we were given the larger room to fit our travelcot, and bedding was provided. If memory serves, I believe they were able to provide a travelcot themselves, but we brought our own just in case. Our friends stayed in the room downstairs, and the communal area / lounge was ... ...(the tables etc had to be cleared away). That was ideal for us as we were not able to go out in the evening with a toddler in bed, so we were welcomed to bring our own wine and snacks and chill out with our friends in the lounge, with the baby monitor on while our son was safely asleep upstairs. The cottage is a bautifuly converted family house, with separate rooms for the owners. They were wonderfully hospitable and would withdraw to their part ...

Relaxing Spa Break
Advantages: All on one site, lovely views from the swimming pool and some rooms Disadvantages: Small food portions and there is a small walk outside to get from the spa to the hotel
I first came across this hotel as a possible venue for my upcoming wedding and fell in love with it immediately. As you drive up to it, there is a fantastic driveway leading up to the huge white fronted building that looks amazing. Unfortunately, we decided not to get married there (travel problems, nothing to do with the hotel itself as it does boast the ability to hold civil ceremonies) but I did decide to hold my hen spa weekend there. Six of ... ...and we each booked spa treatments individually. Check in is the standard 1400hours and my treatments started at 1300, so check in was not possible but the reception staff were very accomodating regarding my suitcase whilst I had treatments. At gone 1700, I checked into my room and was greeted by two lovely single beds with drapes hanging by the wall, an armchair, TV, plenty of drawers, a wardrobe and a separate bathroom with bath, 2 showers within ...

Four stars from the AA and five from me!
Advantages: Spotless, excellent hospitality, lovely food, beautiful rooms Disadvantages: None for me
...hotel in question is the Can-y-Bae, which translates as Song of the Bay and it is situated on the central promenade overlooking the sea. Having such a prominent position it means that once you are in Llandudno it is very easy to find – just head for the sea front and the Can-y-Bae is just a short walk from the theatre and conference centre Venue Cymru and it has been awarded 4 stars by the AA.
The Can y Bae is a Victorian Town House which has been ... ...As you enter the hotel you find yourself in the lounge with the reception area in front of you and the main part of the room round to your left. It is beautifully decorated and has comfortable chairs and sofas with small tables for your drinks and snacks.
The reception desk is smart, uncluttered and inviting and you will be assured of a warm welcome from the owners Dave and Michael. Check in is quick and efficient and you will be given all the information ...

Heart-warming stay
Advantages: Great surroundings, service and facilities & value for money Disadvantages: Easy to get lost
Our Heart-warming stay in Norton Park Hotel Some rambling about the booking first
After our rather disappointing trip to Cardiff, I was left determined to have a decent holiday, after all I have been working hard non-stop for 6 months now in my new full time job - will save this for another review. My mum has also been much in need of a break, so after a lot of pestering, she agreed to take a break somewhere, as long as it was not too far ... ...us to do. It would be just the two of us as my dad and sister had to go back to work (cough haha). After some browsing on last minute dot com, and plenty of hesitation, we decided the south would be the best way to go. We were actually hoping to find something in Southampton - and, well, we did, but it was more expensive and when we then came across a deal for a 4 star hotel at £160 for a double for two nights, with a dinner on the first night included, ...

Good but not quite there!
Advantages: Clean spacious & new Disadvantages: A bit sterile and spa not up to scratch
I stayed here for two nights in July 08. The hotel was new (it had only been open a few months). I live locally but stayed here for a wedding. There was plenty of parking available and an undercover walk way to the reception area (It was raining so very much apprieciated!)
We had a block booking (6 rooms), on arrival all the bookings were as they should have been and check in was easy. We were allocated a room on the ground floor. The view was of ... ...for the view! The room had everything you needed Hair dryer, kettle with tea and coffee, iron and ironing board. There was plenty of space a large comfy double bed table with two chair and a table. Also dressing table and mirror and also good lighting (for make-up purposes!!). Room service was a bit on the slow side but nothing to really complain about and the bar area clean but a bit on the sterile side. We used the Spa facilities which offered ...
