De-lightful and stunning venue! Advantages: Excellent service, beautiful grounds, superb accommodation Disadvantages: Not close to public transport access ...if you go to the De Vere website. After lunch we took and gentle stroll in the grounds, and were able to view parts of the golf course that are part of the complex. As we were only staying for a long weekend, we didn't get the chance to make use of the spa and pool, which looked fantastic, and we only briefly had the chance to make use of the spacious bar area. Sprowston Manor - Delightful Countryside Retreat Advantages: Large, good facilities Disadvantages: Somewhat expensive, suprisingly low standard of service ...by my girlfriend's father to Sprowston Manor to celebrate his 50th birthday. I must say that every aspect of the stay was absolutely fantastic and I would not have any hesitation in recommending this old manor house hotel to anybody. Upon arrival we were greeted at the door by a porter, who took our luggage into the lobby for us, and placed it upon a luggage trolley. After a slight delay at check in (as my girlfriends dad was wanting to pay using ... ...do this!) we were on our way to our room, passing the swimming and sauna area on the way up. That was the first thing we did after getting to our room, we went for a swim. The pool isn't the biggest and I can imagine is quite unpleasant when crowded, but we didn't experience this, and perhaps never is. The pool attendant was very helpful and polite, helping us by giving us towels and showing us where the changing rooms were. Place to stay or visit if you travel to Norfolk Advantages: Good Food, Good Reputation, Clean & Friendly Disadvantages: Can be expensive An independant 3 star family business, the only in Great Yarmouth, even though I live in Great Yarmouth, and I have stayed here once, due to a night out. It was very comfort and the staff were very pleasant. To stay the night it cost me £74.00 including breakfast for me and my partner, and we had a lovely sea view room, and the room was very comfortable, it even had an ironing facilities in the room, the first I had even seen. tv, en-suite, tea & ... ...of cerals and fruits, with a full English breakfast, it even offers kippers and bloaters and kidneys the first menu I had seen with fish and kidneys offered, I didnt dare go for that, I stayed safe with the full english breakfast and it was cooked to perfection! The hotel has a bar on the ground floor, which over looks the wellesley football pitch and the bar can be quite at times. Looked at the Restaurant menu, and its quite pricey, but I am sure ... Sweep up in the country Advantages: Country location, swimming pool, decor Disadvantages: Remoteness, not child friendly, smoking Broom Hall Country Hotel is a charming Victorian country house located at Saham Toney near Thetford in Norfolk. It was established as a family run hotel in 1994. It is found off a country road and you then approach the hotel by going down a winding driveway boarded by trees. To unload you can stop in the covered porch right outside the entrance but this is not allowed for long as otherwise you block any other car coming round. The owners make sure ... ...there is a car park just a short walk from the entrance. The hotel is set in lovely grounds but we didn't have the chance to explore given the bad weather we experienced during our stay. However, there are wonderful views of the gardens from the lounge. The hotel is small and family owned so we were surprised not to be immediately welcomed. It would have made a far better initial impression. Christmas at Cranage Advantages: Attractive hotel, good facilities, excellent party atmosphere Disadvantages: Expensive bar prices, rude waiting staff ...with his work colleagues at Cranage Hall which is in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. As this was some distance from home, we treated ourselves to a night away in the hotel without the kids, making a good night even better! Cranage Hall is part of the Principal Hayley group of conference venues and hotels but for us it was the setting of our Christmas 'do' and a well-deserved night away.
