All this from a Hotel?!
Advantages: Everything you need under one roof. Disadvantages: Can prove to be very expensive.
...of this review but the Hilton at Coylumbridge really has so much to offer I didn't want to leave anything out!!
Having heard a lot of good reports about the Hilton Coylumbridge just outside Aviemore, we have been trying for a few years now to stay there. The Hilton at Coylumbridge is well known for being a very good hotel for families, with lots to offer the kids. When our kids were younger we often tried to stay there but we either couldn’t get ... ...of miles outside Aviemore the Hilton Coylumbridge is situated in a 65 acre woodland estate within the Cairngorm National Park. Quite an impressive looking building from the outside the Hilton has ample car parking both in front of and behind the hotel. The hotel offers 175 guests rooms with a range of different guest rooms, family rooms and suites. They also have lodges suitable for up to 8 people within the hotel grounds. There is a conference room, ...

Scottish New Year in an a great hotel.
Advantages: good location, lovely hotel, nice food Disadvantages: expensive but worth it
I remember staying at this hotel 15 years and thinking "this is OK but it could be amazing. Aviemore is a great town, in a lovely part of Scotland and this hotel should be a hotel of flagship standards . . " well now it is! I spent three nights here over the new year period and it has far surpassed anything it ever was. I was in a double room which was a decent size, not huge but enough room for the two of us. It was well maintained, with a nice ... ...good and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. It wasn't just fried breakfast or cereal, there was other options to keep it interesting like local kippers or porridge. I can also highly recommend the hotel bar, very good service and a lovely range of local whiskeys!! We got a deal on the price through a hotel room search website, but it would be worth paying full price for. Also the location is good right in the town centre. ...

Very relaxing and fun long-weekend
Advantages: Scenery, Food, Facilities, Attractions, Clean air, too many to list! Disadvantages: None
...hotels within the resort. The Aviemore Inn, the Academy Hotel, the McDonald Highlands Hotel and the Four Seasons (Hilton).
I had heard that the McDonald Highlands Hotel was the best one, but it was fully booked when we wanted to go so we chose the Four Seasons instead. I travelled with my child, aged 6 at the time.
The main reception is at the McDonald Hotel, this is where you check in and out and find the big shop and a cafe. There is also a big ... ...are the Cairngorms. Aviemore is quite small, its surprisingly not very Scottish. Most of the workers we met in the hotel, cafes and shops were from other countries and most of the tourists were from abroad as well. It had the effect of making me feel I was actually abroad and not in my own country! But everyone is very friendly. Except when we lost a scarf, we turned back hoping to see it tied to a lamppost but someone had made off with it, in Glasgow ...

Character and Relaxation
Advantages: Very friendly; Excellent food (breakfast & evening); Location Disadvantages: Can be noisy on the first floor above the bar
If you like hillwalking, mountain biking, dramatic scenery, wonderful wildlife and a relaxing atmosphere with a decent sized town nearby for all your basic needs, then this small country house hotel, located a few miles south of Aviemore, will fulfill every one of your requirements.
We\'ve stayed here twice now. The first time was for me to take part in a mountain bike event, while my girlfriend and her father went hillwalking, the second time was ... ...things for a long weekend, heading into the hills (with me on foot this time), visiting a reindeer herd (yes, really) and taking a nice ride to Carrbridge.
Situated on a road running parallel to the main route up past Aviemore this lovely old building rests alongside the railway line, three miles south of Aviemore. A large car park sits to the front of the property, providing plenty parking for all guests and visitors to the restaurant. At the back ...

Premier Inn Gatwick - Exceptional value for money, comfy & clean!
Advantages: Excellent value for money, very comfortable, clean and tasty food. Disadvantages: A bus ride away from the North terminal
I have flown from Gatwick airport early in the morning on several occasions and have always found it much easier to stay the night before and leisurely wander over to the North Terminal in the morning rather than try and make my way down in the car or on the train. I have stayed at both the Sofitel at Gatwick and the Premier Inn therefore, will review both however please be aware this is for the Premier Inn at Gatwick.
I have stayed at the Premier ... ...shower.
The Premier Inn Gatwick has a restaurant downstairs as well as a bar where you can order food from their bar menu. The restaurant menu is simple but the food is good, and includes dishes such as Spaghetti Bolognese and steak (as of September 2009). The bar menu is a little more basic with dishes such as pizza and burgers taking pride of place. The beauty of the bar menu however, is that you can order your food and then take it back to your ...
